I've given up for now - I don't have the time to spend on this at the moment. I did briefly try the MA thread in the A6 section, but that just gave some very weird errors ! Seems like someone has cracked MA for the A6 but I can’t make sense of it.

Hi there, try to use this code to active the park assist. This code 100% works for other car. Maybe you need to combine some codes you have done already. Just give a try

ASP_variant_MLBevo = 12_sensors_PLAEvery time I try, I get the message: “coding rejected” Think this could be the missing link for activating the park assist

Only need to change this in A5. Maybe have others Unit A5 Old Value New Value [LO]_FW_Interface_Parking_button: [VO]_not_active [VO]_active [LO]_IPA_intelligent_parking_assist: [VO]_not_installed [VO]_active

Posted this in another thread on a6, but wanted to update here. It looks like even if you are able to code park assist, that it requires a physical “AI” button that you must hold down in order for it to navigate (controls shifting, steering, brakes, and gas). Hopefully someone here will be able to find a way to activate it either without the button or determine how we can retrofit that button.

I Found that we could order 4N0959673G to get audi ai button. Would that work? It's interesting that having early 2019 car with Every assist in the list they offer, yet I do not have the intelligent parking or curb assist.

I am definitely tempted to try to install the button, I think there is more coding to fully enable the switch though (STG 09 > coding > PILOT switch, installed). I would like to find out for sure if there is a way to enable intelligent parking assist on this versus the autonomous “park pilot” that I seem to have enabled since I *reallllly* didn’t want to turn this into a retrofit.

Matt, just seem like we are missing something here. Struggling to see why AI Button should be needed at all.. have not seen that beeing neccessary in any video. At least not for the "god old" park steering assistance.. gees, even my A6 from 2012 had that :-(..
Must be just a minor thing we are missing out for that one. I will explore it as I get maneuver assist working first. With ODB11 we have lots of the long coding you are doing as easier "adaptions" in the long coding section, with a lot more names on the functions. Hopefully, scanning through those I might get some clues on potentially related settings to toggle.
On the AI button side, would for sure be cool as well of course... Has anyone seen if Audi tied some subscription service to it, via the app or something..?

The only video I've seen of Park Assist in action on an A6/A7/A8/Q8 with the dual MMI screens is this, which has the AI button. Have you found a video with park assist without the AI button on one of these models? (e.g. please shift into reverse, etc?)

The Q7 from 2018-2019 has that function without the AI Button, however not with double MMI screens, but I believe when it comes to this old function they can't have hooked it all up depending on the AI button, could they? Ah, and while searching for my new Q8 (MY2018-2019) I definitely saw cars (Q8 and A6) with the PA virtual button on lower MMI, but never one with the AI button. Seems like the AI button was introduced later, and more related to Intelligent and autonomously parking functions. Q7:

Ah I haven’t seen a Q8 with the PA button pet and no AI so that’s good to know at least gives some hope. The Q7 video I saw but that’s a different system

Matt, this is a long shot, but have you tried just holding down the "P-button" instead? (either the P+wheel in lower MMI, or the P below for activating the 360 view) In the newest Q8s this function (park assist plus) comes included with the 360 cameras, and the driver is instructed to hold the P-button and the car will perform the maneuver itself.

Just *ran* to my car to try this, unfortunately no luck. I would imagine there would be a bit or adaption to enable the function where you would hold the P button, then the screens instructions should reflect that. Edit: Looking at the modules, 09 seems to reference "PLA_" versus A5 seems to reference "IPA_" or "Intelligent Park Assist". Though using only 09 - can not enable PLA, and using only A5 can not enable IPA. There has got to be a happy medium. In 09, there is "pla available" but I'm unable to check that, it just gives a Request Out of Range, even tried with IPA disabled in A5.

Perhaps, hopefully, would have to look into all the park assist-specific button functions to see if there is one.. however since this is quite new at least on Q8 the instructions might not be there yet..? I don’t know how/if this is implemented in the 2018-2019 a6, but imagined they had the assisted steering only. Yet, still there has to be the assisted steering at least.

Unfortunately I've run out of ideas as to how to get this working, I've been stumbling over the same bits in A5 and 09 for awhile now, so may give it a break and hopefully someone else has a revelation soon

Maybe enable this codings will solve the issue.

Also noticed another change I made too, is that I enabled OPS in both A5 and 09. Don't think that made a difference either unless that was part of enabling PA to this point.

I noticed in the video above, does not seem to have the 360 view since the right hand MMI view only shows the graphics not the top view as per default in 360.. of course he could have choosen graphics view, but why? I recall seeing more videos of this function on the non-360 view equipped cars.. but struggling to recall seeing this fully working on a car with 360 cameras. Maybe no conclusion can be drawn out of this, just wanted to share my observation.

Cant share via mobile so will upload screenshots later.

OK, I have the answer from the previous Audi master tech. He mentioned we have to add the AI button to active the park assist since the control unit requires the signal from the button. The good news is it is not hard to add that button and he also helped the customer to enable this function before. Here is the part number: 4N9 959 673G

Find this video for the new Q3 with PA
If we can get the coding from Q3, this will be super helpful
