Feedback from Support
It's just information in different files (XML). The Open Diagnostic eXchange format (ODX) is an XML-based ASAM standard for describing diagnostically relevant ECU data. Vehicle, ECU and tester manufacturers can use the uniform, OEM-independent ODX format to describe and exchange ECU diagnostic data.
You don't need to change anything if everything is working properly. These files describe how OBD11 will scan the information. They do not change anything in the car itself.
This facility has been added as manufacturers make errors and sometime stuff is missing from odx files, seen most recently on battery status on some of the Audi electric cars and you have to change odx version to read information via OBD11.
