His method really works, You just go to a Online XOR Calculate and You will see two inputs, in one of them type C9D2 And in the second one type your current value. And it will give you the code you need to use. The error disappeared right away, Thanks! Many thanks for the generous words, but I don't use an online calculator. The process is so easy that it's just as simple to do the calculation manually There are only 3 x rules to use:
For each bit in the binary number:
- If the values are 1 and 0, the output bit is 1
- if the values are both 1, the output bit is 0
- if the values are both 0, the output is 0
easy-peasy-lemon-squeazy!!

Interesting one, I had SVM error turn up (presume it was to do with the security patch) tried clearing it with gen2 and IOS (updated that day) and it refused to except the XOR code, tried today with gen1 and android no problem at all 🤷♂️

Hello, i need to change the “confirmation of installation change” 4 digit code but the problem is that i’m not able to find the channel (0-255) in wich the modification has to be done. Can you please support? On 5F multimedia i select adaptation, and than it automatically opens the channels list instead of “confirmation of installation change”. I opened every single channel in order to find the key but without success. Is it an app problem?

Is it a golf 7? Or you on the wrong forum? Is it a Audi? If so I think it’s channel 15 but that’s a 5 digit number, I think I have a calculator for that somewhere

Hi, it is an Audi A4 B8 facelift (2013), sorry ! I confirm that the channel 15 has a 5 digit code: 26349Attachments:

For future inquiries - the site below automatically does the calculation for Software Version Management errors (for 4 x digit numbers).
Just enter the value from the adaptation channel: Confirmation of installation change on the hex5F module into the box on the site below - then re-enter the calculated value into this channel. Easy!!!!
l'm so XORy

John: I guess I could back calculate the answer - but to save my addled brain, what was the cypher key for your answer?

Ha,ha I didn’t, a mate of mine had a Audi that come up with the error, so we found out how to sort it on a Audi website which has a calculator, I just bookmarked that page, sorry dude www.audienthusiasts.com/Application_SVMError.htmlCalculator is online there Again I take zero credit for this Although I believe vcds already has a calculator embedded in their software (to save your brain don XOR 51666)

John: I just back-calculated the answer - I must be getting too old (too much red wine and an over fondness for single malt scotch).
I forgot my basic training in number theory. I should have known the answer to my own question before asking you - my apology.
The cypher key for SVM errors on those cars that have non UDS modules (i.e. in those hex5F modules that have a "channel #15") is EXACTLY the same as those cars that have the newer UDS based modules - meaning that both types of modules use the cypher key C9D2.
What happens is this: - UDS modules (newer modules) report a 4 x digit number in the Confirmation of installation change channel and this is a HEXADECINAL number
- non-UDS modules (older modules) report a 5 x digit number in channel #15 and this is a DECIMAL number
So the difference between your "audienthusiast" calculator and my "so XORy" calculator is that yours requires a decimal number as input and mine requires a hexadecimal number! If I use a decimal-to-hexadecimal converter on the 5 x digit number, it will produce a 4 x digit number which when parsed through my XOR calculator with the cypher key C9D2 gives EXACTLY the same answer!!

Soon I will upgrade the XOR tool to take and calculate DEC. Stay tuned.

Hi everybody, I get the same fault in my 5F, but I just see 0 under Confirmation of installation change. What could be the problem here?

mlamaiz : Ive not seen hex0 as a value for the channel before, but I guess that it's as legitimate as any other value -Technically, applying the Exclusive-OR function to hex0 gives the answer C9D2 (which is the value of the decipher key) - try it. Don

Somebody got this working on ios? Tried different radio's, changed code and then save. But the wheel keeps turning for ages and does not confirm. When i recheck the old code is still active. So the error stays...

@miamaiz. I'm not surprised - tell me the history of the hex5F module - is it original and what coding changes have been made to it?

don: It's not original to my golf 7 (2013) but to a newer golf 7 (2018). I purchased it and removed the CP at the dealer, but because I did not get the options I wanted (Android Auto and Apple Carplay) after doing that, a local guy did hack it for me in order to get those options. It works like it should, without any problems... it's just those errors that I want to be earased. It expects a DAB+ antenna and a fibre optic connection which I do not have connected to it, that is why I disabled both in the Long coding using OBDeleven. That is all I did.

Did you try clear the codes first then go into the conformation of software change, as I know some Audi’s report zero, and you have to clear first (I think one car we had to clear 2-3 times)

How do you clear the codes then?
