Just got an OBDEleven for my 2019 GTI SE (NA model if it matters). Whenever I run a scan I get this fault and it will not clear. I also cannot access 55 - Head Range control unit (has a black circle)..I'm assuming that is because of the fault.
My AFS lights seem to work fine. I have cornering lights and the "bends" lights work with no issues.

hmm........ the hexadecimal address circles in each control module is colour coded like this:
- Black colored circle means that the module has been added to the Gateway list, but it hasn't responded when polled (likely because the module isn't actually installed in the car)
- Red colored circle means that the module is correctly registered in the Gateway list, but the module has reported Trouble codes when polled
- Green colored circle means that the module is correctly registered in the Gateway list and no Trouble codes have been reported
Your hex55 module is colored black therefore likely it has been added to the Gateway installation list, but it physically isn't present on the GAN Network. Or, it's gone to lunch and it refuses to talk to the Gateway module (which is like the "Fat Controller" in Tomas the tank engine). I would remove the troublesome module (unless it's physically there) from the Gateway list by pressing the "pencil" symbol (bottom RHS screen below) and un-ticking the hex 55 module:

Removing Hex55 cleared the fault. Thanks!

Hmm.. Not saying you messed anything up, but when you set up obdeleven, did you set the right model year for your car? Asking because us facelift GTI people don’t have the 55 module. We have 4B, 29, 39, and a couple others - obdeleven should have set that up for you automatically.
