Hello, what happens if you choose "DRL only in auto"? Does the light sensor regulates the lights or does the headlights never come on, even if it is dark?

Not done myself but I’d presume you wouldn’t have DRL’s if the lightswitch was in the off/sidelight/low beam positions

But what happens when it gets dark? Does the headlights turn on? If not, what is the point of "Auto"?

I’d have thought when it’s bright (daylight) the dlr’s are on, when it’s dusk/dawn the drl’s and the sidelights are on and when it’s night the drl’s and low beams are on

Hello, what happens if you choose "DRL only in auto"? Does the light sensor regulates the lights or does the headlights never come on, even if it is dark? lurvas: first, you need to make a distinction between the DRL function and the lamps that are used for the DRL function. The latter (i.e. the lamps) are used for a multiple lighting functions including Parking lights, DRL wink, Single Sided Parking lights - and of course DRL function
So, the answer to your question relates to the DRL function (it does not relate to the lamps that as I have said perform multiple lighting functions): as the name implies - "DRLs only in auto" means that DRL function will only activate when the rotary light switch is in the auto position. If the switch is in the "0" position (for example), the DRL function will NOT work. With this setting activated, the multi-function DRL lights will light-up during daylight conditions if the switch is in the AUTO position. No other lighting function is effected - so the low-beams, parking lights do not change
hope this makes sense

Ok, I get it. How do I code so that when I only have DRL on the headlights come on if it suddenly gets dark? (like if I drive in to a tunnel or something like that)

When I switch to Auto, headlights and rearlights comes on even in daylight. Try this way Weren't happy about Xenons switched automatically off only in summer months by my taste that aren't so dark time - Riga 14:35 (not the darkest day of December) 14:39 on Russian Tiguan's(MQB) forum found coding for that www.drive2.ru/l/498312139799265393/forum.tiguans.ru/showthread.php?p=1824068#post1824068Controller 09 - Central Electronics _ _ Long coding _ _ Subsystem: RLHS _ _ _ _ old: 1EA8DD (Tiguan 5Q0 955 547 B ) _ _ _ _ old: 00885D (Octavia) _ _ _ _ old: 0088DF (Superb 2016 5Q0 955 547 A) _ _ _ _ new: _ _ _ _ 3СА8DD — DRL switches to Xenon about at 1200lx _ _ _ _ 3CA8D7 — DRL switches to Xenon about at 800lx _ _ _ _ 3СА8D2 — DRL switches to Xenon almost by sunset times i choose last one, for my front lights this is perfect BUT i got side effect, numbers in dashboard rings became too dark, they becomes illuminated only when brightness slider moved to 80% and higher, what makes central Maxidot display too bright, comfortable for me is 30%

Ok, I get it. How do I code so that when I only have DRL on the headlights come on if it suddenly gets dark? (like if I drive in to a tunnel or something like that) To make the DRL lamps (again, there is a distinction between the "lamp" and the DRL function) switch-on after dark if this isn't set at the factory depends on the type of headlights and the country of sale.
But, have a look at the settings on the 2 x adaptation channels below: Leuchte5 TFL RB32-Lichtfunktion E 5 Leuchte4TFL LB4-Lichtfunktion E 4 ONLY if the setting on your car for these channels is Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) change to Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht: Positionslicht: Begrenzungslicht)
The second part of your question was about switching off the DRL function. There are lots of ways of doing this, but perhaps the easiest and most convenient is to put a software switch on the MENU screen.
This is done like this: Daytime Running Lights- Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge möglic >active, or Außenlicht_Front-Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge moeglic > active - if you have a post MY16 car
Using the function 1. Select Car from the buttons on the side of the media screen. Then press Setup (on the bottom RHS of the screen) 2. Select Light 3. Enable/disable the "tick" on Daytime Running Light (tick-on DRLs on, tick-off DRLs off

I have checked and it is as you say: Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht: Positionslicht: Begrenzungslicht)
Can I change when headlights comes on when set in Auto?(later/darker) I see there is something called RLS_Night_Sensitivity,is this where I change this?

Sorry to ask but: What? DRL activates Highbeam but dimmed? 2019? Not in EU, sorry.
Golf 7 had 6 DRL configurations: Until 2017: PFL Low: Halogen H7(dip)+H15(combined high and DRL)-this is a double wire bulb with 55W for highbeam and 15W for DRL PFL Mid: Xenon Dip + Xenon high in one projection + PW24W for DRL PFL High: Xenon Dip + Xenon High in one projetion + LED "U" for DRL (U dimmed for dip) From 2017: FL Low: Halogen H7(dip)+Halogen Highbeam (don't know, don't care) + LED Stripe for DRL (dimmed with dip) FL Mid: LED Projection (dip) + LED Reflector (high) + One Wing DRL (dimmed with dip) FL High: LED Proection (dip + high) + LED projection (near field) + Two Wing Drl (dimmed with dip)

@ Don This didn’t seem to work just done this and they are not on ncodes: Hmm........ might be time for some clarification: my suggestion was intended to switch-on the low-beam lights when high-beam is selected (by which I DON'T mean high-beam flash). Does this happen with my tweak on your car?

Alternatively to look like this

Post by vwjap on Apr 6, 2020 16:50:42 GMT
I thought that was a hardware thing, as the twin headlights put all four LED’s on but direct it downwards or lower the light emitted, whereas the 2 LED’s do low beam and the other 2 do high beam on the other style of headlights

So does anyone know how I would turn on the high beam/flasher when it goes dark?
|
|
|
Post by newty on Apr 7, 2020 17:49:14 GMT
Nope. Never was. You cannot code the second light (applies to all Golf 7). There is just nothing which could be lit inside the inner fixture when it Car came from factory without it.
Second, you cannot change the dimming: Facelifts LEDs are controlled by 4B Multifunction modules. These cannot be coded or altered in their function.

^^The factory settings for high-beam flash on HID lamps are: Left-side:Leuchte10SHUTTER LB23-Lichtfunktion B 10 > Lichthupe generell
Right-side:Leuchte11SHUTTER RB22-Lichtfunktion B 11 > Lichthupe generell
