............to make only drl to act when cabin is illuminated
To operate the DRLs only when the cabin lights are illuminated - change: - Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte3SL VRB21
- Lichtfunktion C > Innenlicht
- Leuchte4TFL LB4 and Leuchte5 TFL RB32
- Lichtfunktion C > Innenlicht
- Restore the low-beam Leuchte-sets to their factory values (i.e. Leuchte6ABL LC5 and Leuchte7ABL RB1)
........also my taillights don't work , only front when unlock/lock the car To operate the outer tail-lights when the cabin lights are illuminated - change: Leuchte20BR LA71 and Leuchte21BR RC8
- Lichtfunktion G > Innenlicht
- Dimmwert GH > 50

Thank you, Don! It's working perfectly now!! I have just one last question , is it possible to make this light to turn on
Instead of this?

hmm............ I'm not sure which Leuchte-sets are assigned to the highlighted lamps in your first picture. My previous instruction for the tail-light cluster was to add add the new function to the outer Brake light (on either car-side) - this is the highlighted lamp in your second picture
What are the lighting functions that the 2 x highlighted lamps operate in your first picture? Do they work as Parking-Lights only, or do they operate as both Parking-Light and Brake-light?
What country is this?

They are working only when lights are on I mean when the light switch is in at second and third position and maybe for parking lights also but I am not sure.. The car is Italian.

Hi dv52 (Australia) , any idea how much time the interior lights stay on ? ( Like if you lock the car by pressing the button on remote, how much time the DRL it will be on ? ) So as i read 10 times the topic please correct me if i'm wrong, i understood that you made a work around which if you put off the interior cabin lights from the switch on the ceiling, the DRL will stop even if the one door it is opened? ( Like previously someone said was doing some detailing and DRL were on the whole time)

callliope: Hmm......... the answer to your question is very easy to determine. Simply press the lock button on this car and look at the interior cabin light. The faux CH effect from the tweak will be illuminated for exactly the same time as the cabin light remains lit. Don

You replied so fast that i couldnt make quote of your post, to see that if this one coding making the workaround which i spoke in previous post: So as i read 10 times the topic please correct me if i'm wrong, i understood that you made a work around which if you put off the interior cabin lights from the switch on the ceiling, the DRL will stop even if the one door it is opened? Because previously you said that you checked electrical wirings and even if the interior light is OFF, the power supply it is still ON for the cabin light, thus make DRL on even if you put OFF from the ceiling.

HI, I kindly wanted to ask you about the questions:
1) I modified, as you wrote, the values for the front drll and the rear position lights. Everything OK! But ... is it possible to deactivate the function whenever I turn off the internal lights? Example: I turn off the internal lights and automatically drl and rear lights turn off. it's possible?
2) By applying the front DRL function and rear position lights, the 09 control unit is in error (sporadic). Are they errors that can give "serious" problems?
3) By applying the front Drl function and rear position lights, is there the risk of greatest battery consumption considering that they will also access the day?
4) By applying the front Drl function and rear position lights, you can hear a buzz from the front LEDs by the fact that the LEDs are turned on (before I had never noticed). Is it normal right? Because I'm afraid to do damage 😬😅.
A THOUSAND THANKS.

callliope . hmm.............. unfortunately this is a very long thread and it contains responses to a number of very different questions! And to complicate stuff further - I really don't understand your concerns. So let's reset a go back to basics.
The OEM light functions are: - Coming Home = The car's exterior lights are turned-ON when the driver exits and locks the doors
- Leaving Home = The cars exterior lights are turned-ON when the driver unlocks the doors via the key-fob
For the 2 x light functions above, the OEM controls are like this: Coming Home: - Automatic mode = CH is enabled ONLY after dark
- Manual mode = CH is enabled when the high-beam stalk is "flashed" before the driver exits the car and closes the driver door
Leaving Home: - Automatic mode = LH is enabled ONLY after dark
Clearly for "Automatic mode" to operate the car needs to know when it's dark and the rotary-light-switch must be in the AUTO position - so this mode is NOT possible for cars that don't have a light sensor installed
My tweak instructions simulate (repeat, "simulate" for emphasis) the OEM form of CH and LH. Importantly, my tweak does NOT replicate CH and LH in its OEM entirety!
Hopefully you are still following!
On cars without a light-sensor installed, it's theoretically possible to implement both the manual mode form of the OEM CH light-function and the simulated CH/LH light-function. Some of my responses in this tread relate to the former option.
If the manual mode CH function is enabled- the ON-time is determined by the adaptation channel: - Außenlicht_uebergreifend -Menueeinstellung Cominghome
And the rules regarding whether the exterior light is over-ridden by doors opening/closing is determined by the OEM function (read the owner's manual)
If the simulated CH/LH function is used - the ON-time is the same as the interior cabin light (no difference) and the impact of doors opening and closing have the same affect as on the interior cabin light.
And of course, whether the exterior lights operate in either manual CH, or the simulated CH/LH light-function is determined by the Leuchte-command that is applied to the light's Leuchte-set

My responses to your questions below in blue
Don
1) I modified, as you wrote, the values for the front drll and the rear position lights. Everything OK! But ... is it possible to deactivate the function whenever I turn off the internal lights? Example: I turn off the internal lights and automatically drl and rear lights turn off. it's possible?
No - the tweak works by using the same Leuchte-command as the "internal lights" but it's not controlled by the overhead light switch. I guess that you could try experimenting with the other Leucthe commands (like the "Ambientelicht 1/2/3/4/5, or Umfeldbeleuchtung)
2) By applying the front DRL function and rear position lights, the 09 control unit is in error (sporadic). Are they errors that can give "serious" problems?
Not sure - you don't say which "error" appears on this car. These are lighting tweaks - I doubt that they could be "serious"
3) By applying the front Drl function and rear position lights, is there the risk of greatest battery consumption considering that they will also access the day?
Yes - Of course switching-ON more lamps when the engine is NOT running increases battery drain. You need to exercise discipline in choosing which lamps and how many exterior lights to use as CH/LH function - particularly for incandescent lamps
4) By applying the front Drl function and rear position lights, you can hear a buzz from the front LEDs by the fact that the LEDs are turned on (before I had never noticed). Is it normal right? Because I'm afraid to do damage 😬😅.
I don't know - I've not heard of this "buzz" before!!

hmm......... yes, those Leuchte-sets look OK too. So the coding for the front DRLs is good. The problem must be with the way that the tail-lights are programmed - I'm guessing

ryvn: hi Because you want to "turn on Headlights when unlocking the car", you are referring to Leaving Home (LH). As you probably already know the official version of the LH function does require a light sensor to be installed - because it only works during nighttime conditions. However, if you don't have a light sensor installed, you can still have a version of LH by turning-on the headlights whenever the internal overhead cabin light illuminates. Again as you will know, when you press the key fob to unlock the car (or, when you unlock the door manually), these cabin lights do light-up - so this method kind-of simulates the official LH function. BUT (and there is always a "but") - this alternative method of LH is different to the official LH version because: - The LH lights will also turn-on during daytime hours
- The time that the simulated LH function will illuminate the LH lights will be equal to the time that the internal cabin lights are switched-on
- The LH lights will light-up at other times whenever the cabin lights are turned-on (not just when you press the open-door button on the key fob)
So, if you are comfortable with my "BUT" dot points - try this: Simulated Leaving Home function (for MQB platform cars without light sensor)
- Go to the Central electrics module @ address hex09
- Select Adaptation
- In the search box, enter LC5 and select Leuchte6ABL LC5 (this is the left-side low-beam light)
- Navigate to Lichtfunktion C 6 and select this channel
- ONLY if the current setting for this channel is nicht aktiv, change the setting to Innenlicht
- Navigate to Dimmwert CD 6 and change to 100 if your car has halogen low-beam lamps, or change to 127 if the car has HID/LED lamps
- Press the green tick to implement these changes
- At some point after you press the green tick, you will be asked for a security access code - use the magic number 31347
- Back in the Adaptation search box, enter RB1 and select Leuchte7ABL RB1 (this is the right-side low-beam lamp)
- Navigate to Lichtfunktion C 7 and select this channel
- ONLY if the current setting for this channel is nicht aktiv, change the setting to Innenlicht
- Navigate to Dimmwert CD 7 and change to 100 if your car has halogen low-beam lamps, or change to 127 if the car has HID/LED lamps
- Press the green tick to implement these changes
- Exit OBD11 software (remove dongle from the car) - cycle the ignition and turn-off - Lock the car and try the tweak
Don
EDIT: .......and if you also want to use the low-beams for Coming Home (which doesn't require a light sensor) - change these channels in the central electrics module: Außenlicht_uebergreifend
Coming Home Leuchten > Low beam Coming Home Verbaustatus > automatic Coming-home Einschaltereignis > Driver door Menueeinstellung Cominghome, > 10 seconds Menuesteuerung Coming Home Werkseinstellung > active
Leuchte6ABL LC5 Lichtfunktion D 6 > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv Leuchte7ABL RB1 Lichtfunktion D 7 > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv
Make sure "Coming Home" is activated in the MENU on the MMI
I have a Seat Leon 2017 Facelift with FULL LED, do i need to make some screenshots so you can see the channels in VCDS and send to you ? I want to activate "manual" coming/leaving home EDIT: I made a post here link , in that thread, i still couldn't manage to make it work when i unlock/lock from the remote... If anybody has some advice, i'm happy to listen.

callliope : try my instructions - according to your diagram showing the Leuchte-set allocations for the headlight lamp on a Leon Facelift, it should work to illuminate the low-beam lights Don To be honest i didn't try with low beam lights, because i wanted to have only the DRL's. Any idea why coding 2SL VLB10 and 4TFL LB4 didn't make one front side DRL to work ? I made here a long post, sharing all the informations which i think are needed, and what i did do until now link
P.S In my vcds there is not any green tick, do you mean to check soft reset and after this press DO ?

callliope : I'm guessing because you haven't provided a SCAN report for this car - but from your VCDS screenshots of the 2SL/4TFL channels it's clear that these Leuchte-sets are factory disabled. This generally means that the central electrics module does NOT control the DRL lamps on this car. Again this is a hunch (no SCAN - so I can't be sure) but I suspect that this car is fitted with Light Control Modules (LCMs) to manage the headlight lamps. If so, you can't use my tweak because it ONLY works when Leuchte-sets are active. Unfortunately, OBD11 can't access coding variables in LCMs - so the headlight lighting behavior can't be altered. Don

I suppose this is the log you need: justpaste.it/9pjhd/pdf , if this is not the one, just tell me which scan do you need, so i can have some closure on this matter, if the DRL's are fitted to LCM's then i will abandon the project and accept some suffering ... i just hope this lasttyp which is not active it means it is controlled by Cent electric module and maybe i just missed something on coding part. As a disperate approach i was thinking to switch Interior light cabin value from Lichtfunktion G 2 to Lichtfunktion H 2

Yes - as I suspected and as confirmed in your SCAN report, the DRLs on this car are NOT controlled by the 09: Cent. Elect. module (J519) Instead, the DRLs are controlled by the 4B-Multifunc. Module (J745) - you need to update the VCDS software on your device. That's the reason why the DRL Leuchte-sets were factory disabled and that's why activating the Leuchte-sets won't work (it's because the DRLs are NOT wired to the 09 module pins)
So, again - try my tweak - but my instructions will ONLY work if the 2 x Leuchte-sets for the low-beam lamps in the central 09 module are NOT deactivated

I will try to update my VCDS to 23.11 if it helps. Practically i need to apply same settings which i applied to DRLs also to channels: 7ABL RB1 ; 6ABL LC5 (low beams channels)? This is what you meant? Or are you saying that i can simulate LH function only with low beams because DRL's are from 4B module and there is not anything that i can do more for the DRL's to make them work. Today, i will check low beams channel and make screenshots to all of them. Sorry if i dont follow exactly, i'm on this thing for only 2 days, i appreciate your patience. Later Edit: I checked module 9 left low beam channel (6ABL LC5): link ( i put in name of the file which channel it is, for easier checking) When i try to enter Module 4B i have the error "No response from controller" LE2: I tried your tweak for low beams, it is working, the only problem it is that if the door it is opened (no matter setting on the upside cabin light switch), low beam it is still turned on, there is any trick to turn it off manually when you do some work on the car? I'm still eagerly waiting for the answer if i can do something on DRL's from this point or not

LE2: I tried your tweak for low beams, it is working, the only problem it is that if the door it is opened (no matter setting on the upside cabin light switch), low beam it is still turned on, there is any trick to turn it off manually when you do some work on the car? Yes, the reason why the low-beam lights come-ON is because the Innenlicht Leuchte-command triggers the switch-on process whenever the door contact switch is activated. On your car, this also turns-ON the power-supply to the overhead cabin lights - but the physical overhead switch electrically interrupts this power-supply to the actual lamps. Nevertheless, the power-supply to the overhead light switch is still active. Hence the low-beam lamps are illuminated whenever the door contact switch is open!
This lighting behavior cannot be changed with the Innenlicht Leuchte-command (as I have said before on this thread , this tweak is NOT the same as the OEM function for CH/LH - it ONLY simulates aspect of CH/LH). If you want EXACTLY the same functionality - install the OEM light sensor and change the rotary-light-switch!
You could also try experimenting with the following Leuchte-commands - but I don't believe they will work!
- Ambientelicht 1
- Ambientelicht 2
- Ambientelicht 3
- Ambientelicht 4
- Ambientelicht 5
- Umfeldbeleuchtung
I'm still eagerly waiting for the answer if i can do something on DRL's from this point or not hmm....... I really don't know how to say with any more clarity than my previous statements about the futility of pursuing a solution on the 4B-Multifunc. Module (J745).
But, if you want to attempt using the 4B module - then go right ahead (it's entirely your choice)!! If you do find an answer whereby you can actually program the 4B module to change the factory-set behavior of the DRLs - please inform the forum how you did it!!

Thanks for the reply, just now i found some guy in my city that retrofit these things, most probably after holidays i will install the light sensor together with the rotary thing.
I will try all the option for the low beam, if i will find one of them which makes the low beam to stop if the interior lights are not powered on i will let them if not i'll go back to stock. For the moment, i will put the channels for DRL in the 09 module back to normal, thanks for all the help.
Have a nice holidays !!
