Second this. If you have a back-up, why is there no way of restoring all of the settings within that module to the data in the back-up? This would save so many dramas.

christiank the backup is good for many things. Firstly it gives you the ability to see how the car was setup so if you have made lots of changes and got lost its easy to do a compare and restore it back. You can easily copy and paste long coding to revert in two clicks You can use it to see whats in your car setting to try and work out what needs changing and export the data into other tools. You have live data snapshot to see how things were looking at a point in time.

No the backup gives you a point in time view of the control unit settings. The point of running it is if you get in a mess you have a good point to restore it to. This is very much about the control unit Long Coding/ Adaptations and the settings of them

Hey OBD11 Guys......it's 5/2023 and there still is not an option to RESTORE the initial car BACKUP in 1 step! Any specific tecnical reason why you didn't add it yet? The BACKUP option is pretty useless without a RESTORE one so please consider this a priority in one of your next updates!

Welcome to OBD11,
They have a list of BUGS (Not talking about missing features) that have been around for many years and still not fixed
They have still not completed IOS for VAG
They have a lot to do on BMW to make it anywhere near as good as VAG
They also have a major job to actually get the Chart function to work the way most people would like it.
The last couple releases seem to have caused more issues than they solved.
So my personal opinion is Don't hold your breath.
One point to consider if you have made changes across multiple control units and you only reset one control unit this will bring up other errors. I also think that some of these changes would then require basic settings so again after the restore it could cause new errors to appear but very happy to be wrong.

ok maybe for each change a undo option. <old value = <new value= so end user when make mistake can see old value/new value and can restore each fault done edit or other panel odbeleven history / changes / here only log of each change old value / new value...
full restore is maybe not ok because than other updates/paid credit changes restore back than many question help to fix back ... but each change log should heb end user
i am also new user and also make mistake after watch a video *(youtube) with acc fault fix / i did = security - login / basic and reset personalization setting and now lose pre sense (fault), distance fault.... and have no backup (wel many read and clear before) anyway in these case i think sample backup (auto) and panel to found each change old/new value help many people
