Obd 11 full back up messed up sun roof

Hi all I did a full back up today of my q5 2017 fy. After the back up had finished my panoramic sunroof and roll blind only opens a few inches. I have not changed any coding for the sun roof. Any ideas what might have happened or how I can fix this issue?? Am using iPhone and iso 14.1

not my car so cant give a simple answer.

However in theory all the backup does is copy data not change anything.

Firstly I would run a scan to see if there are any errors reported.

Secondly it would help people who know your car if you could put up a scan of you changes so they may be able to see if anything odd.

Hi here are the fault codes.

No basic setting B154354

Roof blind no basic setting B154454

No vehicle coded B169400

I have not changed any coding all I did was a full back up of my car. I have found online that other people have had the same issue after doing a back up the same thing has happened.

Very odd, well if you have not done any coding and I presume that you have not used any apps either this needs to be reported to support team via the in app help function.

As I say don't know your car but from the error message what has happened is the roof window / blind appear to have lost the basic settings

have a read of this audi notice it has some info on how to reset basic settings static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10158641-0001.pdf but it relates to the Q7 not Q5, Check with other Audi Q5 owners if this solution works for them.

Hi no problem thank you for the info.
I will have a read later. I haven’t got the pro version so I haven’t been playing with any coding. I have use a few apps when I first got the obd 11 haven’t changed any thing in months just thought I would scan the car to see if there was any faults. None found so I decided to do a back up then the pano roof got messed up

Hi I have use the link in the thread and followed the instructions to try and fix the pano roof with no luck. I do have a full back up of my car is there a way to get the long coding for the pano roof and sun blind from this back up?

would I have to up grade to the pro version to see if I can change the values some how??

OK Sorry that did not work, with regards to the long coding if you go to the backup there will be a line with long coding and a set of numbers.

I am afraid however that in order to make changes to coding or run basic settings you need the pro version however I would be speaking with support first as this should not happen just running a backup.

Hi.  I have the SAME issue.  I am a brand new OBD11 purchaser and upon backup, my sunroof gave the same error codes.  Why has OBD11 not resolved this?

To make the fix more difficult, when you do a backup with IOS, it does not record the sunroof long coding.  I had to search many forums to find what I believed to be the correct coding.  Fortunately, it worked after much wasted time.

The long coding was changed from 228000042602 to 228000000000 which threw one of the errors.  Reverting back to the correct coding and performing Sunroof/Sunshade adaptation calibrations fixed it.

I have low confidence in this product now.

Hi there, same problem here. Brand new OBDeleven Pro User with IOS. The car is a Audi A4 allroad 2017. I wanted to take a backup first before trying any codings. Messed up the roof settings. I hope this Problem will be fixed soon.

Same situation with 2017 Q5 (Mk2).
Backup wiped settings, and no record of previous in history using iOS.
Sent webmail to support & messages on Twitter to OBD11, but no reply. Very frustrating.
Think I’ve lost door supplimentary lighting because of it too.
Am piecing together correct long coding for the module from VCDS forum (former user), and think I have correct hex figures, but rain forecast so don’t want to go through any calibration settings in OBD11 without clear instructions for fear I’m left with an open pano roof!
If I sent problematic product out to my customers & then left them high & dry without response, I wouldn’t be in business long & would see my days in court!
Pull the finger out OBDeleven!

owned - we have similar vehicles. If you’re still on here, can you walk through the setting / calibration procedure please. I presume it’s in OBD settings, as the “keep the button pushed” approach on the physical sunroof buttons only opens it about 9 inches & then closes again. Blind moves about 6 inches. Grrrrrrr.

Hi, has anyone had a similar issue to this with their RHD Q5 & managed to solve it?. It’s a common issue with obd11. 10000kms with the roof blind closed & roof not operational is not what I signed up for…..Thanks.

Voltas IT dont spend a lot of time looking at this forum i am afraid.

Use the in app help function or Email [e-mail] and explain the issue and point them at this thread.

According to the help tool they are not back till Tuesday so response will not be quick I am afraid.

I have the same issue:
Sunroof opens 2 inches
Fault code for CA is: Sunroof No basic setting B154354
No idea what the old long code was or what the code I need to enter should be.

My sunroof only opens a couple of inches now.

Not a happy chap!
There is nothing stuck in the rails and it worked perfectly well the day before.
I just created a thread for it and then saw this one.
I’ve got a 2018 Mk2 FY Q5.


Via OBD11 Pro for IPS, the CA fault code says B154354 (Sunroof No basic setting)
But when I look at the long code it shows as: 52 80 00 04 26 02

Not sure if that’s the problem.
No idea what to do.
