Hi. I installed a low line rearview camera that I purchased on Ebay, on my A3 8V (2015). The camera works perfectly fine, but after installing it I decided to run a scan and two fault codes came up (they were not there before I installed the camera:
U101400 - Control module incorrectly coded B200500 - Invalid data record
I did some research about the meaning of these codes and how to fix them. From what I understand the system may not recognize the camera so I tried to activate the rearview camera in long coding of module 5F (Byte19, Bit 4) and then I ran another scan but the fault codes still remained. Any idea what I need to do to get rid of these codes? Also note that these two codes cannot be cleared for some reason...
Please help! Thanks.

stevie: Hi. There really isn't enough information in your post to analyze your problem. The cause of the error is clear - changes have been made to the module (probably long-code) that are inconsistent with the hardware/software.
If you want to investigate yourself - go to your HISTORY records and examine each entry (related to the hex5F module first). Revert any changes that look odd back to their original settings then try to clear the DTC.

Thanks Don. Actually the fault codes came up after I installed the hardware... then I made a change in Long Coding to make the fault codes go away but that didn't fix the issue... Thanks.
