Hey guys new here and new to the r32. I picked up an obd11 pro hoping to change a few things and it seems that obd11 thinks that my car is a newer golf R and when i try and use the apps they say not compatible. If i try and add my car with the vin it says unique transition names are required for all shared elements

contact support via the in app help function or via the obdeleven.com chat system.
They are the only people who can change your car.

the r32. I picked up an obd11 pro hoping to change a few things and it seems that obd11 thinks that my car is a newer golf R Other than the APPs, it really doesn't matter what OBD11 "misinterprets" your VIN to be. I think of it more like a time-saving feature so as not to have to poll modules that don't exist. Once you have a MK5 and newer (in the Golf / Jetta range), OBD11 will interrogate the gateway and find all your other modules anyway. What features are you trying to toggle? you can do ALL that coding manually if you have the patience to go through Ross-Tech's Wiki page or other material. Selecting the "wrong" car type does not mean that you lose access to options or features. You will however have "APPs" that aren't applicable to your actual car, but you can toggle things yourself once you have the understanding. Have you glossed over this page as yet? wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf/Jetta/Bora_(1K/5M)

I havent looked at that yet but i will thank you. Im interested in changing my cluster region so i can activate halogens with high beams also hoping to figure out how to get mirror dip to work and see if i can get rid of the bulb out light that shuts off my led reverse lights

Im interested in changing my cluster region so i can activate halogens with high beams No. The two are independent of each other. I assume your car has bi-xenon headlights in which the single bulb does both high and low beams. The halogen in your car only does "flash to pass" when you pull the stalk towards the driver. If that's the case, you need to be in Module #09 instead and be doing Long Coding. You go to Byte 17, uncheck the option that says "Deactivation of the additional high beam with Bi-Xenon". You may also want to test the option in Byte 03 that says "Xenon headlights without shutter" (this should be unchecked to say NOT INSTALLED). You then go to Byte 00 and select the option for "Xenon headlights with shutter" (and ensure it says INSTALLED). Note: Backup all existing coding first. My instructions for you are for the modules that are in MY car. Yours may differ. The Mirror Dip on a MK5 now seems to require you to have mirror seats installed, and the mirror knob be turned to the passenger side before you select REVERSE.

When i pull the stalk back it works the shutters not the halogens.

I tried what you said with the long coding. Xenon headlights without shutter says function not available when i try and change it. Deactivation of additional high beam will change but doesnt do anything

Let me open VCDS and look at my actual coding. I suspect you have to re-code your car as a European region to get this to work. Let me look at MY car first.
