DSG firmware update

I was offered an option to update my DSG firmware.

Since the car is 2015, it most likely never had an update of this sort.

Did anyone update their DSG and if so what are the improvements you can feel/expect?

Hi. Sometimes after update dsg works more smooth, change gears faster etc. But if your is ok you do not need to update. If you have obd11 you can do basic settings for dsg. It will learn your driving style from the beginning. I heard that in haldex if you have error 16668 pump for haldex clutch then is good to update haldex driver and problem solved 😀

I mostly have problem with DSG being jerky at low speeds.

Say when you are trying to parallel park or crawl closer to a wall from a standstill (especially if the engine is waking up from start stop).

That sort of problem

P.s - I did DSG basic setting reset (one touch app) and it did not solve this problem.

So maybe update will help you solve your problem. Or maybe dsg oil and filther change also improve it. But if this is mechanical problem then nothing helps you (only repair)

I'm technically not due for another DSG oil & filter change for another 34.000km (around 21.000miles) as my current mileage is 86.000km.

But I am changing those regardless along with HALDEX oil (which is due this year after being replaced back in 2018) tomorrow.

The fact that Audi never tells what their firmware does is frustrating. I was curious what DSG updates fix.

I was told by some people to halve the Audi recommended DSG oil & filter intervals. It is strange to me for AUDI to ask engine oil & filter change every 1-2 years (10 or 20.000km) but DSG oil & filter are not time constrained and are good for 60.000km

Yes I am changing dsg oil and filter every 60 000km and haldex oil every 30 000km and never had any issues with it
