I'm a whitewater kayaker and we often pay a shuttle driver to drive our car from the put-in to the take-out on the river. When they drop off the car the standard procedure is to toss the keys in the globe box, use the door lock button to lock the doors, shut the door and walk away...we never meet in person so can't retrieve keys later. This always worked with my older cars, now with my new Atlas it's a different story.
I can't figure out a way to, on purpose, lock the fob the car without another fob or the mechanical key. Whenever the doors are open the door lock buttons don't work. I can unlock the doors, but not lock them. Is anyone aware of a coding sequence to allow the door lock buttons to always be active even if the doors are open, fob is present or not?

I believe that is a safety thing and works w all vw fobs ,at least from 2012 and up. I know this might sound weird but if the key is sealed in a foil bag kind of like the one you put your EZ Pass in Show the toll monitor won't pick it up. Or maybe wrap it in a piece of tin foil and give it a test run. Hope this helps
