Hello everybody!
Any info on disabling the break pad warning indicator? I was fiddling about an hour trying info from here and there but couldn't find anything. Car is 2017 FL with digital cluster. I've replaced my brakes and the new pads obviously don't have the connector on them.

Do this (I assume that your hex09 module DOES NOT have an active long-code string):
Go to central electrics module Select Adaptation Enter "HW" into search box and select HW_Verbau Navigate to Brake pad wear and change setting to not installed
If your central electrics module reports an active long-code string - change Byte 4, Bit 7 to 0 (untick)

It was exactly like you described it. Worked like a charm ! Thanks Don!

I did this exactly and now I have an abs light on how do I get rid of it? I tried reversing the steps but that didn't fix it. It says I have code C101F00 which is an open test but how do I get rid of it. Do this (I assume that your hex09 module DOES NOT have an active long-code string):
Go to central electrics module Select Adaptation Enter "HW" into search box and select HW_Verbau Navigate to Brake pad wear and change setting to not installed
If your central electrics module reports an active long-code string - change Byte 4, Bit 7 to 0 (untick)

elenami : Hi. I have absolutely no idea why the code C101F00 (System Function Test Activated) appeared with this tweak - as ilbabis reported, this didn't happen on his/her car!! Anyhow, the code C101F00 is not an "error code" - it is a status message which is telling you that the ABS module has initiated a self testing procedure to verify that its sensors are working correctly. So, because the code is NOT an error message, the code is NOT stored in normal fault-code module memory. This means that the code can NOT be cleared by a diagnostic device.
I've not seen this code on a Golf mk7.5 - but AFAIK, the only way to delete the code is to permit the Brake module to complete the self testing procedure. On early model Golfs, this involved a short drive @ 20km/h and turning the steering wheel. I suggest that you try the same procedure on this car - see the video below (ignore fact that the fault codes in the video are different).
