Hi (Don) Any idea what channel controls the H8 bulb cornering lights that sit directly inboard of the xenon projectors on a PFL A3? I swapped out the halogen h8 bulbs for LED's and and getting an adaptive light failure warning when the wheel is turned. Going back to the halogens fixes it. I figure the bulbs need to be adapted as LED lights with 127 brightness, but am not sure of the channel.

Danny - maybe these Leuchte-sets?: Leuchte12NL LB45 > M109 - Left allweather light bulb Leuchte13NL RB5 > M110 - Right allweather light bulb

12 and 13 are as far as I can tell the fog lights, which I know can be used to mimic cornering lights, but I’m after controlling the ones in the headlight assembly, that are inboard of the projectors. They only come on when cornering and do not see to be listed in a leuchte set. Maybe I’ll need canbus decoders to run led bulbs - weird though as the same bulbs in my fog lights work without any error...

danny, it depends on the style of headlights that are fitted to the car - on my A3,the traditional fog-light Leuchte-set are what Audi call "allweather lights" which are embedded into the HID headlight assemblies (they point sideways) and they are programmed as static AFS lamps. These lamps are halogen - so I assumed they were the lights that you referred-to in your post.
If your car has separate fog-lights, then I suspect that the "inboard" headlight lamps won't be controlled by Leuchte-sets - they likely will be controlled directly by a module other than the central electrics module (maybe the module @ address hex55).
Yes, you could try a CAN sniffer to identify the cornering light messages, but then what are you going to do?

Hmm, the light bulbs in question do indeed point sideways in the headlamps so they do sound the same as yours. I do have additional fog lights in the lower facia though and any adjustments to leuchte channels 12 and 13 effect them only. Additionally the error I get from the static afs lights in the headlights are indeed on module 55, so I’m sure you’re right that they are controlled by it rather than a leuchte channel on module 09. So I guess there is no way to adapt them as LEDs All I’m trying to do is fit some inexpensive led bulbs in place of the halogens on the afs lights, but they don’t seem to be compatible. Guess I’ll try a canbus decoder online and see what happens. As always thanks for your input Don By the way, where can I get a can sniffer? That does sound useful.

By the way, where can I get a can sniffer? That does sound useful. hmmm.............. there are lots of different types and it really does depend on your preference and what other interface gear you want to use. Simply enter "CAN bus analyzer" into the search bar of your local eBay site
