Hi again Don
I would like the footwell slider option to turn on/off the indicators which I want to use as us style parking lights
I understand they won't be dimmable just on and off
This is not legal in the U.K that why I need the footwell option for on/off so I can use at car meets only

Irs also not legal in germany. But whatever. I post the coding a few post before. It has to work. I did it by myself at a mk7 gti.

Hello,
I'd like to see if a few things are possible with OBDEleven and would like to know if anyone has any insight on how to change/enable some of these things:
- Is it possible to have the rear back up camera alert sooner than it currently does when you're too close to an obstacle? - Is it possible to turn off the nav alert to find gas stations when you're low on fuel? - Can you get your current range on your fuel level to show on the driving data screen? - When I get out of my car and hit the lock/unlock button on the door, nothing happens. I have the KESSY system. Is there an ability to alter this so it will lock when pressing the button? - How do you disable ESC/traction control entirely? I'd like to change the behavior of the traction control button when it is pressed. I'd like it to be Sport upon first press, then disabled entirely with a long press.
I realize several of these are impossible. I'm curious as to the limits of this tool, though.
Thanks!

Kye: I don't have an adaptation channel map for the Central electric module for a UK Golf R in my database, but I do have a map for an Aussie Golf R and a German Golf R and both have the same setup for the front turn signals. So - I assume that these cars are set-up the same as yours. From what I can read of Daniel's instructions, the Leuchte-sets for the front turn signal lamps on the two Golf R's in my database appears to be compatible with his settings I suggest that you check first to confirm that your current settings are as follows: Left-side Front Turn Signal (1)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lasttyp 0 > 33 - LED-Modul Blinkleuchten (2)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lampendefektbit Position 0 > 34 (3)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 0 > 14 (4)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion A 0 > Blinken links Hellphase (5)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion B 0 > not active (6)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Dimmwert AB 0 > 127 (7)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtansteuerung HD AB 0 > Always (8)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion C 0 > not active (9)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion D 0 > not active (10)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Dimmwert CD 0 > 0 (11)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Dimming Direction CD 0 > maximize (12)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion E 0 > not active (13)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion F 0 > not active (14)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Dimmwert EF 0 > 0 (15)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Dimming Direction EF 0 > maximize (16)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion G 0 > not active (17)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Lichtfunktion H 0 > not active (18)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Dimmwert GH 0 > 0 (19)-Leuchte 0 BLK VL B36-Dimming Direction GH 0 > maximize Right-side Front Turn Signal (1)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lasttyp 1 > 33 - LED-Modul Blinkleuchten (2)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lampendefektbitposition 1 > 3E (3)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 1 > 15 (4)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion A 1 > Blinken rechts Hellphase (5)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion B 1 > not active (6)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Dimmwert AB 1 > 127 (7)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtansteuerung HD AB 1 > Always (8)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion C 1 > not active (9)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion D 1 > not active (10)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Dimmwert CD 1 > 0 (11)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Dimming Direction CD 1 > maximize (12)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion E 1 > not active (13)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion F 1 > not active (14)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Dimmwert EF 1 > 0 (15)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Dimming Direction EF 1 > maximize (16)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion G 1 > not active (17)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Lichtfunktion H 1 > not active (18)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Dimmwert GH 1 > 0 (19)-Leuchte1BLK VRB20-Dimming Direction GH 1 > maximize If these settings are confirmed, implement Daniel's instructions. Hi all, I've not found an answer so far, perhaps somebody can help. On my 15 golf r the gear stick switches from auto to manual when you click the stick to the side, can this be reprogrammed to remain in auto but just change the driving mode to race mode, is this possible? If so how?

I would be delighted to be proven wrong, but I believe that the function that the gear-stick performs when moved side-wards is set by the firmware in the Auto-transmission module @ address hex02. Alas, I don't think that it's set by an adaptation channel, or a code Byte/Bit. OBD11 can't alter firmware programming inside a module - even if you were able to identify the correct piece-of-code to change (alas) Don

Found the option under 'Access 2' I think instead of ZV Komfort. Seems to work!

In regards to: "Range should be on be default on the MFA, or do you mean in the MIB/Infotanment system?" I'm not sure if you mean the range I mentioned for the back up camera or the range as in fuel range. Either way, I don't have a response to either. 1) is it possible to have the car alert sooner when reversing and you're too close to an obstacle. 2) Can you add in a fuel range on the dashboard in the driving data screen? 3) Is there a way to turn off the box which shows on the infotainment system to locate gas stations when you're low on fuel? And one new question: 4) The options for convenience unlocking are vehicle side/one door/all doors. I'd like only the front driver's and passengers side doors to unlock when I unlock it -- the rear doors I'd like to remain locked. Is there an option to code this? Thank you for the options on ESC coding!

To answer your questions: 1- Sorry can't answer, I don't have this feature. 2- This should be enabled by default, at least it is on my TDI (but we're milage nuts lol). I'll check my codings later & see if I can find anything for ya. 3- Sorry no nav, but I'm sure there is. 4- I don't think this is possible. Have fun with the ECS off! Shoot me a PM if ya like & I can try to help with your other questions.

- Select security access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select adaptation
- Search for Leuchte12NL LB45 (this is the left-side front fog light)
- Select Lichtfunktion B 12 - ONLY IF THE DEFAULT SETTING IS not active, change to Abblendlicht links (don't confuse this leuchte-command with "Abbiegelichts links")
- Search for Leuchte13NL RB5 (this is the right-side front fog light)
- Select Lichtfunktion B 13 - ONLY IF THE DEFAULT SETTING IS not active, change to Abblendlicht rechts (don't confuse this leuchte-command with "Abbiegelichts rechts")
Note: I have designed this tweak so that the front fogs switch on with low-beam (because this is what you requested. However, an alternative and perhaps better arrangement is to trigger the fog lights with the Parking lights - because these are also switched on with low beams. If you want to engage the fog lights when the parking lights are turned-on replace Abblendlicht links/rechts with
Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) on both channels above

Ryan: I always like it when forum colleagues take the initiative to answer their own questions - it shows a willingness to learn and a capacity for risk taking (both excellent attributes) - respect! Yes, you are on the right track, but you need to understand that your car has 35 x Leuchte-sets (a Leuchte-set being a bunch of 19 x adaptation channels with the same "Parent" name) and each of these sets is separated into 4 x " Alfa-pairs" (and a lamp set-up section). At its most basic level -the anatomy of a Leuchte-set can be simplified into the following skeletal structure: If I've been successful in explaining how a Leuchte-set is organized, you can hopefully see the inherent sub-groupings in the picture. Each Alpha-pair allows the programmer to allocate 2 x lighting functions (i.e. " Lichtfunkion") to the lamp and the lighting function-pair is then controlled by the dimming (i.e. Dimmwert) and Dimming Direction values. See - it isn't that difficult to understand a Leuchte-set ! For your DRLs, the boffins @ VW head office have programmed the following functions into the Leuchte-set: - Daytime running lights using the Tagfahrlicht command)
- Parking lights using the Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) command
- Single Sided Parking Lights using the Parklicht links (beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re) command on the left-side and Parklicht rechts command on the right-side
So - armed with this basic piece of new knowledge, have another look @ the Leuchte-set for the DRL lamps ( Leuchte2SL VLB10 = left-side, Leuchte3SL VRB21 =right-side) and tell me how to solve your own question and why your valiant first attempt above was not successful Don
