Hi there,
i just upgraded my 2016 F3 with a rain-sensor. The mounting on the windshield was not a big deal because of the existing socket. I coded a few things i found in other forums and tested with a water-sprayer and my Hand, if the sensor works correctly with rain and light.
...and i thought it works fine... till now. Drove in the rain and the Wipers were not activated when windshield was very wet and the time they worked, they were still on when the windshield was dry.
My thoughts are, that the sensor (which can fit into a lot of cars like Golf, Oktavia, etc) is not coded to the fabia windshield. I think the raindrops are not interpreted correctly by the sensor.
Can anybody tell me if or better where i can code the slave coding (00185E) for the new Sensor?
Quote from a manual from another forum: ...A full auto-scan is made and the sensor now appears as a slave under Module 09. The coding (00185E) for the new sensor can be added: Module 09 - coding - use the dropdown and find the new sensor - type in the code...
I did not find a way to do that with OBD11, but maybe one of you did?
Thanks

I think i got one step further:
My problem is, that the the Sensor does not appear as a slave Module in the List of the Control units. If it would be there, i could open the Sensor-unit and choose "coding" and enter the Code mentioned in my last post (00185E).
Does anyone have a clue how to let the Sensor appear in the Lists of control units??

I think that this problem could be fixed only with VAG-COM, because a rain sensor will not magically appear as a new unit in the list of control units as a rain sensor is only an extension to an existing unit.

SOLVED (with VCDS):
Thanks bendarevan!
I connected my car to an VCDS and opened Module 09. Pressed "coding" and chose the RLS Sensor from the dropdown-List. In the new window is a List of cars the Sensor can be mounted in. Chose the right car and the above mentioned Code (00185E for Skoda Fabia NJ) is displayed. Finished.
