Hello, I've recently retrofitted the (imitation) MK7.5-style taillights into my MK7 Golf. After I've changed some settings in OBD, the fault "Right tail lamp bulb, open circuit/short circuit to B+" popped up, which is fault code B12BF15. All the lights work, so I really do think it might be a value I changed which the BCM doesn't like. Unfortunately I haven't made a backup prior to the changes, but I did make use of the history to restore everything to the way it was. Unfortunately the fault is still there, even after clearing it. I might be missing something, but I have no clue what it might be. Does anyone have the factory values for all the Leuchte for a MK7 Golf (2013 Netherlands)? Or the settings for the taillights, that might be even better! I'd really appreciate it! Update: So I went over every rear light again in OBD, I can’t seem to find what’s wrong. However (!) I noticed the fault goes away when I turn the ignition on with the boot OPEN. The fault comes back (both OBD and on the dash) when I CLOSE the boot. What’s happening?! Now I’ve disconnected the cable that connects the inner taillight to the outer taillight, but that didn’t do anything. What I do know is that it has something to do with the inner right taillight and the boot.

Fixed! Turns out I had the wrong memory allocated to Leuchte24SL HRA65 -> Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 24 -> 0 (old value). I changed it to 2A and the fault is gone.

I noticed the fault goes away when I turn the ignition on with the boot OPEN. Hmmm....... this observation is easily explained! For the 8 x Lichtfunktion channels in a Leuchte-set on MQB platform cars (like your mk7), there is a fundamental difference with the first two (i.e. Lichtfunktion A & Lichtfunktion B). These 2 x Lichtfunktion channels DON'T have a Dimming Direction AB channel. Instead, this "Lichtfunktion-pair" (my name) has a Lichtansteuerung HD AB channel. Now, there's nothing official in the public domain about Leuchte programming, but my guess is that: - Lichtansteuerung HD = Lichtansteuerung HeckDekkle = Rear deck light control
And the allowable values for this channel = only_if_closed and always So, Lichtansteuerung HD controls whether the first 2 x lighting functions in a Leuchte-set operate if the "boot" is either OPEN, or closed and clearly there ain't much point in illuminating the inner tail-lights when the "boot is OPEN!!!! Unfortunately the fault came back after some driving. Does anyone know what else it might be causing it? There could be any number of different reasons for this error! Rather than guessing - please post-up screenshots of Leuchte24SL HRA65 and please confirm what type tail-lights were factory fitted to this car (i.e. incandescent, or LED). To be clear, I need to see ALL 19 x adaptation channels for the Leuchte-set in your screenshots

dv52 (Australia) , I fixed it using an older post which you replied to! This one: forum.obdeleven.com/thread/10600/dtc-on-brake-light-b12bf15 your last reply. Thanks! The car came with incandescent taillights. The retrofitted taillights were plug & play, but it didn’t feel right to let it operate with the factory settings. Using your settings I managed to get it working, and got me more educated as well, so it’s a win-win. Other people experiencing this problem might find this helpful. If you want to know what changed: I didn’t have the correct channel settings for some of the lights.

Hey I’m having a similar issue. Have led taillights with harness and my left indicator doesn’t turn on. I have a few fault codes. What values should I change to activate it. Also if I can get help clearing the other faults that would be great. Thanks

gmc1103 . hmm........... Lampendefektbitposition and Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC channels are used by a Leuchte-set as memory address functions for diagnostic lamp monitoring.
My experience has been that changing the values in these channels is ONLY done in very rare occasions and I don't believe that this instance is one of these occasions because the retrofit exercise is about physical equipment changes (it's NOT about changing fault memory addresses) Therefore, I suggest that you return ALL changes to the Lampendefektbitposition and Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC channels back to their original factory values. You can use the information in History for this task.
As for the physical aspects of this project and as I'm sure that you will agree, the new tail-lights on this car are by definition non-OEM. Non-OEM means that the new tail-lights were NEVER contemplated to be installed in this car by the original Audi car designers. And more importantly, non-OEM means that the new tail-lights have been designed and built by a third-party manufacturer for their products ONLY - so it's anyone's guess how this was done!!
I have no idea how these tail-lights are meant to operate and your picture of the cross wiring harness doesn't explain much (to me, at least)! From the little that I can glean from your harness picture, it appears that the power supply for the LED chaser circuits in the new fittings come from a separate new wire for each car-side. Some other non-OEM manufacturers get this power supply from an existing wire in the car's wiring loom which necessitates coding changes. My hunch (guess really) is that your set-up probably does NOT need coding changes -but again this is a total guess.
What were the instructions from the non-OEM equipment manufacturer about coding changes? Did the non-OEM equipment manufacturer OVERTLY specify that the new tails lights were compatible with the factory tail-lights that fitted to this car?
And, your harness picture says the power supply wires are "CONSTANT 12V" - does this mean a Terminal 30 (i.e. non-switched), or a Terminal 15 (switched with ignition) power supply?

The new leds are OEM, but they were from PostLift model, 2017, mine are from 2016. I had led too but they were mixed led, lights were led, turn signal led, brakes and rear bulbs
I have changed for all led OEM
And, your harness picture says the power supply wires are "CONSTANT 12V" - does this mean a Terminal 30 (i.e. non-switched), or a Terminal 15 (switched with ignition) power supply? Terminal 30 (always power due to lights)
Sending you my model connection (8SK) and in another post 2017 full led connection The installation follows the image, minus the connection to bcm, should i change it?

OK -this is how I read the information in your latest post:
For the error 00180A - Right rear turn signal bulb Open circuit/short circuit to B+: - This fault relates to the OUTER, right-side 6 X pin connector (plug #4H009737O3 on your harness diagram)
- Specifically this fault identifies Pin #2 on MX6 - which supplies lamp M8
- The BCM Leuchte-set for lamp M8 is Leuchte19BLK HRC31
For the error 00410A - Left Rear Turn Signal Light 2 Open circuit/short circuit to B+: - This fault relates to the INNER left-side 8 X pin connector (plug #3B0 972 724 on your harness diagram)
- Specifically this fault identifies Pin #6 on MX3 - which supplies lamp M80
- The BCM Leuchte-set for lamp M80 is Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9
You say "I have installed this in 2022, until now, no error, now, since last month, everyday i have those errors". This doesn't make sense because the date stamp for the the BCM errors above on your SCAN = 2023-07-24 and 2023-07-25. So, something in the information that you have provided is amiss!!
The inconsistent information is confusing - but if the faults in your SCAN really are for the current faults and if these faults SUDDENLY appeared about a month ago - look at your History records for any coding changes at that time: - If coding changes were made to the BCM at about the same time as the errors started - revert the modifications back to "old value" in the records (particularly if the changes relate to the 2 x Leuchte-sets above)
- If there are NO coding changes in your History records - the cause of the errors are probably physical. In this case - investigate the connections for M8 and M80 (both on the factory car loom and on the new harness wires)

Hello You mean 4H009737O3C and 4B0971636 right? those connectors are the new one connected to led. By inner you mean the one in tailgate and the outer is the in main car? You say " I have installed this in 2022, until now, no error, now, since last month, everyday i have those errors". This doesn't make sense because the date stamp for the the BCM errors above on your SCAN = 2023-07-24 and 2023-07-25. So, something in the information that you have provided is amiss!! This is not my scan, my scan have only the bulb errors and the doors errors Im sure id didn't vhange anything in coding since then, so my feeling it is the BCM because i have intermitent errors in turn signal and driver door, the foldable mirror stop wotking and few days after starts working again, now also i have Tyre pressure error and the tyres have the correct air.. The worst now is i didn't make a backup and i don't remember the values i have changed in BCM, really stupid

Hi, I recently changed from halogen rear tail lights to MK7 GTD tail lights on my MK7 Golf I am getting error codes after fitting the tail lights. Please see the attached fault codes from an obdeleven scan. The only thing I have coded to the rear lights are so they act as a DRL during the day no other setting has been configured to the rear lights. Please can someone help me in regards on how to fix this. [

usman579 : Hi hmm......... I've absolutely no doubt that you have lots of knowledge about this project - but unfortunately not much of this information has been provided in your post! I assume that "us" in usman579 means that this is a "Yankee" car- is this the case (because the wiring of the tail-lights on a NAR - North America Region- model Golf mk7 is very different to other models)? Also, what exactly is meant by "MK7 GTD tail lights" in the context of this car? Are the new tail-lights LED and if so, did you install a cross-wiring harness? If, so - which manufacturer's harness did you use (provide a URL link for both the new tail-lights and the harness) And, what exactly are the DRL coding changes that you made (it matters!)? Again, this problem is NOT trivial if your aim is to clear these errors - diagnostics via a forum requires that those reading this thread have a good understanding of the back-story for this project. Responses without this understanding are at best uninformed guesses!! Don
