Fault Codes & Looking For SVM and Code to get Menu Settings

Hey All,



The problem I am having is the Unit I got was out of a 2017 A3/S3/RS3 not sure which one.



When I got it I didn't get an SVM and a local shop has done Component Protection removal but can't download an update or activate all my settings without an SVM Code of a 2017 Audi A3/S3/RS3.



They also don't know what All 10 Bytes are they said they can see but are not sure what each Byte is.



The problem I am having is I have some settings like Drive Mode Select and Apple Car Play activated and working but I do not have all my Setting, for example, I have just had a new battery installed and registered to the car which reset my clock but I don't even have the Date and Time Setting to adjust my time and the asterixis button is not either.



I was wondering if any of my problems are something you would be able to assist me with to inform them and get all my settings activated.



I look forward to hearing from you guys and hope you guys could help.



Any help will be greatly appreciated.



Also I have a 2016 Audi S3 what would the Car Generation and Car Class be in the 6C Rear View Camera and in the 17 Dashboard.



on My MMI it shows a hatchback would anyone know how to code that to be a Sedan?

Hmmm....... I'm not sure which SVM code you are referring to (and why it's needed in your case) - but there's a bunch of dialogue HERE regarding how to generate the number.

As for the "10 Bytes" - the normal way to manage this matter when swapping modules is to start by inputting the long-code string from the old module into the new module. This at least aligns the software switches in the new module to the way that the car was factory built.

After this is done, it's a matter of then making informed choices about what further changes need to be made. To help with this second phase of the long-code setting task, OBD11 tells you what each Byte/Bit does by selecting the option below:

So, if you didn't take note of the long-code settings from the old unit - re-install it into the car and do so. Then follow my suggestion above.
