It will be hardware (new lights and a wiring harness)

Does anyone know if I can set dynamic indicators on a golf gtd mk7? Depending on the type of your current taillights, which need to be of the LED type, and if so, you could consider a set of these from Aliexpress: look for item #1005004488294501 or similar to purchase in your own language & region and make shure there's the option for free return in case they might not work and / or not meet your expectations Sceptical but curious if stuff like this actually would work, I ordered a set for my wife's 2015 mk7 (with original led taillights). To my big surprise this ~30Euro empirical experiment actually works without any codig or errors; in optical perception the result of time delayed light-up of the inner and outer led bars provides some similarity to genuine dynamic turn-signals. If this compensates the price difference is up to you and in this respect the ' free return' option is essential. I also exchanged the turn-signal led bars in the external rear view mirrors of both our MK7 and MK7,5 cars. (Aliexpress item# 1005004775587578 or similar) There are plenty of tutorials on youtube about how to replace; it's a piece of cake 30 minute job; double that if you also want to clean out the mirror interior and servo-mechanism. Since the dynamic replacements are actually far more bright than the stock-oem led bars in the mirrors, I can recomend this <10 Euro replacement to all MK7 owners. See example of the differences

chrispie : Hi, Hmm......... yes, I understand your your skepticism about allixpress stuff (I reckon that I've had lots more disappointments than successes when buying their stuff). However, I suspect that your assessment in the case of item #1005004488294501 is more about expectation (no offense intended) Again with no offense and notwithstanding the seller's claim that their item transforms normal LED turn-signal to dynamic type, it's a bit of a stretch to call the end result "dynamic turn signals". A more accurate description is "time delayed turn-signals"
Clearly the Aliexpress item does not (can not) achieve dynamic turn-signals because it does not have the circuitry for LED chasing. As vwjap has indicated, "dynamic turn-sgnal" involves sequential illumination of the individual LEDs within each of the inner/outer fittings. For this to happen, the laws of electricity demand that EACH individual LED is controlled by the LED chaser circuits. Obviously, access to each separate LED can NOT occur by simply adding an external device to the factory tail-lights

Hi Don,
Thanks for your rightful complement!
From what I haven't repressed from my engineering education some 40 years ago I must confirm that you’re absolutely right about the technology behind dynamic vs. time delayed LED control.
Perhaps I should have emphasized in my post that, in optical perception the result provides ‘some similarity to’ rather than the representation of genuine dynamic turn-signals.
To what extent this appeals to someone (and if the difference compensates for the pricing) seems to be an individual matter. In this respect the 'free return' option is essential.
Cheers, Chris
