Hello
Of course, first you have to change the region of your car with OBDeleven and set it to Europe (EU).
All the best.

kb123 : Hmm......... SATNAV in VW vehicles is SWAP (software as product) - meaning that to operate the facility, a license is needed (called a FEC (Function Enabling Code)) that's tailored to the car's VIN. Since this car was factory fitted with SATNAV, it will have the required FEC. However, the license will be specific to the original region of sale (clearly in this case, Japan). So, if the car is to be used in another SATNAV region - it's likely not just a matter of changing the MIB long-code string ( Byte 3 determines the SATNAV region - the value for Japan =00000110 and EU =00000001). Deeper changes are needed to the 5F module software - including a new FEC for the new region. Don

Thanks for reply I’ve tried fec codes from the generator and says that code is invalid for the European codes when trying to install with OBDeleven is there anywhere else to get the fec and swap codes from?

To add generated Fec codes to your MIB unit you first need to patch the unit, have you done that yet?

You still have Japanese firmware. Change that to EU, patch device and you're good to go.

Best way is with MIB. More Incredible Bash. There is a function for eu conversion.Load MIB onto SD card. Follow the process and it will instruct you when to load the eu firmware. Yours is a Discover pro, so maps are loaded to the hdd. Do some research on MIB. YouTube mrfixpl. Plenty of good instruction video.

Any help would be appreciated with this
MHIG_JP_VW_K0260 Radios a mib1 discover pro
I've converted it from Jap to EU ... now firmware K1555 EU - updated the firmware
( downloaded maps from MIB solutions .. think this has been an issue as I've seen reports of an error on the p350 map )
patched it using M.I.B bash
installed map ... which was going fine till it got half way through installing Russia - then came up with an error - wouldn't get past it so rebooted the unit. Tried to start map installation again .. but wouldn't let me - no 'start' highlighted
back onto toolbox .. deleted the nav database thinking it would help ... nope !
no idea where to go now ..
