Hello, every 10 weeks I get the error Dynamic cornering light on the matrix light. The workshop extinguishes it again, but then it comes back. What can it be? How do I delete the error with Obdeleven ?

Hello schneider , and welcome to the forum community. The OBDeleven diagnostic scan tool gives you the ability to read a description of exactly what the fault is, and also the ability to clear that fault from the memory of the control module that reported it. Usually, the description of the fault will give you some clue about what caused the fault. That will enable you to investigate further and perhaps correct the condition that is causing the fault to appear. If you can't figure out what the fault code means, you can always post the fault code & associated text here in the community and other forum members will try to help you out. The OBDeleven diagnostic scan tool does not come with a printed manual explaining how to use it, but there is online guidance provided at the OBDeleven website. Go to this link: User Manuals or this link FAQ and do some digging, and you will be able to gain an overview of how to read & clear fault codes. Michael

Hello, there is no default setting for the headlight in the error memory, it comes back every 10 weeks after the workshop visit. Why is that? How do I clear the error?

Hi again schneider : IF you are seeing faults after picking up the car from a workshop visit, the problem is that the technicians at the workshop are not clearing fault codes that they may have unintentionally generated once they have finished their work. Fault codes can be unintentionally generated by various normal actions when the car is in for maintenance. For example, letting the battery voltage drop below a certain level when doing work, or something as simple as disconnecting and reconnecting an electrical connection in order to get access to a tight spot somewhere on the car. These actions are harmless, and the fault codes that result can be safely ignored, but best industry practice is to always clear fault codes at the end of a shop visit. Perhaps "gently" mention to your service advisor that you have been seeing fault codes after every service visit... the service advisor will know what you are talking about, and hopefully remind the technician who works on your car to "clean up after himself". You should check faults from modules: 4B Multifunction Module and 09 Central Electrics - instead of D6/D7 LED Modules

hmm....... as a new-bee to the forum, you can be forgiven for not understanding how stuff works (or, more importantly how stuff WON'T work). However, it's mostly just common sense - put yourself in the position of your forum colleagues reading your post! The success of requests like yours is critically linked to how well those reading your post can understand the situation on this car. Currently, ALL that is known about this car is that there is a fault related to the cornering light function that a professional mechanic (who unlike your forum colleagues, actually has access to this car) can't diagnose. And we know that this is an intermittent fault that re-appears about every 10 weeks. There must be a zillion possible reasons for faults with these characteristics!!
With just the information provided, ALL replies will be sheer guesses really - no offense intended to those responding. If you want to really help yourself - you need to provide more information. This will result in more informed responses - hopefully So, maybe start by posting up a copy of an OBD11 SCAN of this car - when the fault reappears! To do this - do this: After you receive the email that you sent to yourself from the last screenshot - copy and paste the contents into a new post

schneider : Arrhh............that's better!! Now we can see how this car was factory built and which modules are unhappy - which is quite a lot!
I'm not an expert on MQB-evo platform cars (like your Golf mk8) and you should wait for more informed replies from others - but my immediate observation from your SCAN related to headlight faults are the errors in: - 4B Multifunktionsmodul
- D7 Lichtsteuerung rechts 2
From a CAN network perspective, you can think of the 4B module as being a kind-of master module for both the D7 and D6 slave modules (which physically live inside the left/right car-side headlight fittings). From your SCAN, it's clear that for some reason the D6 module is OK - but the D7 module (right-side headlight) is unhappy.
Now, normally a U112100 - error means that the module is waiting for a message that it doesn't receive. In this case, I suspect that the missing message is over the Extended CAN bus, but it may also be the Driver Assist CAN bus (I think).
The concerning issue with this car is that the error on the 4B module (which means that the module has lost its initialization parameters for level ground) is a "Static" error - but the D7 error is sporadic. If the U112100 was caused by the 4B module, I would expect it to also be a Static error (and for the D6 module to also complain).
Nevertheless, I suggest that you start by re-establishing the level-ground reference point for the 4B module - by completing the Basic Setting procedure for this module.
My remaining concern is why the U112100 error is sporadic and why the mating D6 module has no errors? Has there been any coding changes made to this car? If this car was out-of warranty, you could try swapping the D6 and D7 modules and see if the fault chases the swapped modules.
However, why not simply make your problem VW's problem and deal with ALL the multiple errors on this car as warranty issues - as suggested by paneuropean ?

Hello DV52, thanks in advance for the help. The Golf is still under warranty, which is why I drive to VW every 10 weeks, then the error is deleted or a new basic setting is carried out. The workshop is not allowed to exchange parts without the manufacturer's approval, unfortunately VW leaves the customers hanging, so the guarantee is worthless. How can I permanently delete the error with OBDeleven or how can I carry out the basic settings myself? Does anyone have instructions for this? greeting

schneider : Hmmm....... OK, I'm really not sure about your claim regarding the value of the VW guarantee in your country (Germany?)!! As I said, my understanding of MQB-evo platform cars is NOT good - so I respectfully bow to the advice of other, more experienced colleagues.

So, with my caveat above and from a pure logic perspective based solely on a literal read of the Frame-frame data, my didactic observation is::
- The date of your SCAN was 2024-04-02
- The date of the C107E54 error was 2024-03-26 (this is the date that the error was first registered in the module's fault memory)
- Error frequency counter =1
- Unlearn counter= 40 (This is the number of drive cycles that must occur WITHOUT the error reappearing - for the error to be automatically cleared)
Note: Google "VW drive cycle" to understand the term
Point 3. above suggest that in the period between Point 1. and Point 2. (i.e. 6 days), the error did not re-appear on a subsequent drive cycle. I assume that this car was used regularly in the 6 x day period.
Maybe keep track of the Error frequency Count and when the number increases - try to deduce what conditions on the car might have caused the recurrence of the error?
As for the method to re-calibrate level ground on the 4B module - once more I must restate my limited understanding of MQB-evo platform cars. However, I outlined the steps for the same procedure on the previous version Golf (i.e. mk7/mk7.5) HERE. I'm not sure if my instructions work on a mk8 (in this case, the procedure would be applied to the 4B module - instead of the 55 module in my link)!
