Thanks very much for this be great if you can do more of these on often asked issues like DPF Regen but I have a question.
It does not state it but I presume you can only do this if you have the Pro or Ultimate package.
On the Older cars (non UDS control units) you state: ""For older VAG models Scroll down to find the control unit called “Battery Regulation,” click on it, and select "Long Adaptation." Enter channel number 4 and hit “Done.” Tap on the "Value” field to input your battery information. Start with the first three digits for battery capacity, followed by a space. Then, add the three symbols for the manufacturer code, another space, and the 10-digit serial number. You can find these codes on a white sticker on the battery. If there’s no sticker, simply enter “UNK” for the manufacturer and change the last digit of the serial number. Then, confirm the changes. If your new battery is different from the old one, take a few extra steps: Go back to the “Battery Regulation” control unit and select “Long Coding.” Update the battery type to the correct one, then slide right to confirm.""So the Battery Regulation is Control unit 61 and from memory not all cars with this control unit have Long coding (example in my Garage is a Q7 from 2008 this only has adaption channel) but happy to be wrong on that and also on the Q7 its Adaptation not Long Adaptation
Further you don't tell us what Byte in Long Coding we should use to adjust the battery type I think its Byte 02 (remember these labels are user defined so may not be there)
However the issue I have is not all old cars have Control Unit 61 (see my understanding here) an example is a Passat from 2007 and that has no control unit 61 so the battery adaption is done via Control Unit 19, Channel 04 would you agree
With regards to the BMW Process you state
""If your new battery type and capacity differs from the old one, navigate to "Apps," find the "Battery Type and Capacity" option, and select your new battery type. Skip this part if the type and capacity are the same. Then, open the "12V Battery Registration" app, select the “RESET” option, slide, and you're set.""

Audi Q3 2.0 FTSI Quatro 2016 (OBD identifies it as 2017)
I have the OBD11Pro and believe I have been able to 'successfully' code my new battery. My new battery is an AGM as is my old one but when coding my new battery I put in the new 'Ah', 3 letters for fictitious manufacturer and 10 digit fictitious battery number e.g: 070 RAY 1234567890 which was accepted. I was not however able to change the 'type' of battery which I wanted to make sure was set to 'FLEECE'. I couldn't find any options containing the word 'Battery' in 'Control Units' so could only use: 'Gateway/Long Adaptions which only allowed me to do the above. Please help.

I have raised this issue several times with support and still waiting and answer Justinas have you any updates for us please
Do you have a control unit 61 on your car, this is the Battery Adaptation control unit.
Could you confirm your car protocol (you will find it under INFO) was it CAN: UDS or KWP2000

Justinas whilst I appreciate you only work monday to friday its been far to long since you either pointed out I was wrong (which I am not) or you updated the help file. So as I have said before you help file shows you state on non UDS control units Scroll down to find the control unit called “Battery Regulation,” click on it, and select "Long Adaptation." Enter channel number 4 and hit “Done.” Firstly the Done button is for IOS so what do I do with Android. Secondly I have a Q7 with control unit 61 (Battery Regulation) and unlike your details it does not have Long Adaptation it only has Adaptation so this needs an updated to explain the different setups you can find is it true I should use control unit 09 if 61 is not shown... Thirdly AGAIN AGAIN and AGAIN what do i do if there is no control unit 61.... Fourthly AGAIN AGAIN and AGAIN what do i do if there is no long coding to change the battery type - is it possible not possible... Whilst I am very happy you have done this blog if its imcomplete and wrong then it needs updating. On the BMW Side as i have stated not all cars have the one click app so simple word change if you have this OCA then...
