artie : Hi. The error code B200500 on the A5 module means Data Record Invalid.
This is a general error code that can appear in lots of different modules and normally this fault message happens when retrofitting new modules onto an existing CAN network - which from my understanding of your words seems to be the case in this instance
B200500 indicates that the parameter data stored in the control unit is incorrect and when it arises, the usual result is that it disables the functionality of the module!
I'm not sure if you are aware of term "parameter-data" (better known as "data-set") when referring to VW modules. This car has a MQB platform build which means that it shares the same DNA as many other MQB platform cars in the VAG fleet (like Audi A3, Seat Leon mk3, Audi Q2 etc).
Very often, the same module (meaning the same Part-Number/Software-number) can be installed in lots of different version MQB vehicles - notwithstanding that there are subtle variations in how these modules operate in the individual models. The way that VAG manages these operational variations is via the programming values in the module's data-set.
You don't say how/where you sourced the new A5 module for this retrofit-project - but the B200500 error-code is telling you that the module is unhappy with the data-set for the recipient vehicle
So, bottom-line = the module needs a vehicle-specific data-set file for a Golf mk7 flashed into it. Alas, this cannot be done with OBD11

Hey Don, I will add some photos, I don't know what you need but could you maybe explain me how to do it? I drive a mk7 2.0tdi 2016, bought the camera from Aliexpress. Arthur Attachments:

Arthur: thanks for the additional data - but again as I said in my previous reply, the fix for this problem "cannot be done with OBD11".
The screenshots in your last post simply confirms that the module that you purchased from Alliexpress does NOT contain the correct dataset for this car. In fact, given that the Alliexpress module was brand-new, I suspect that it doesn't have a dataset at all!
The better way to source these modules as a retrofit unit is to purchase a second hand-module from a donor car that is the SAME model/make as recipient car! That way, you are assured that the module has the correct dataset

Hey Don,
Same car, you mean also a 2.0tdi from 2016 mk7? Or will a mk7 do it?

Arthur: Probably - but I'm not certain!!
I don't know the exact details of every version dataset for Lane Assist Modules for each model car that has a MQB platform. However, I can suggest a sliding scale for the risks of buying a 2nd-hand A5 module with the wrong dataset - the closer the model of the donor car is to the model of the recipient car- the smaller will be the risk of incompatibility.
So, at one end of the risk scale, if the donor car is also a 2.0tdi from 2016 mk7- this gets-you the best chance of compatibility! At the other end of the scale, a brand-new module from Alliexpress will probably deliver the worst chance of compatibility (because it likely will have NO dataset).
OBD11 can tell you which version dataset is in the Alixpress module. Go to Advanced identification for the module and enter .the term "parameter" into the search box. This should return all of the data-fields related to the version parameter-set in the module.

Hey Don,
Today I went around looking for parts and checked in the sbadyards, but they all don't have parts for an MK7. What I did find is a camera from a "Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI." Since this belongs to the same family, I thought it might work. Or do you think it won't accept the module at all and we'll be as stuck as we are now?

Hey Don,
I found a camera for my Golf, but it's a 5Q0 980 653 C. Can you perhaps tell me the difference between the F, G, and C versions? I'm always trying to learn.

Your camera is missing parameters, you wont be able to get anything done before you upload the parameter file, but as Don already said "this cannot be done with OBD11".
Either you find a parameter file for your specific camera or get a used camera.

Hello,
Is there any possibility to do it, can you explain it?

Either you coded the A5 wrong or any other module thats connected to the A5 like Dashboard, 5F oder Steering Module. Or all at once.
