Has anybody got the coding to enable Dynamic Road Sign Display (Traffic Sign Recognition) with AID dashboard on the 7.5?

I have it enabled from the factory so not done it myself but coding is
Select Control unit 5F (Information Electrical) Adaptation Select Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2 traffic_sign_recognition_0x21 Değer=Active Select Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu menu_display_road_sign_identification Değer=Active
Go to Long Coding Byte 24, Activate Bit 6
Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Security access Access Code 20103 Control unit Long Coding Byte 16, Activate Bit 4
Select Control unit 17 (Dashboard) Control unit Long Coding Byte 5 Activate Bit 2
Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Adaptation Road Sign Detection Fusion Mode Change to ‘Road Sign Detection’
Reboot Infotainment

Did you ever see a message like this in your car? I followed your coding and the system recognizes the traffic signs but I keep getting that message.

Made the same mods - get the same message (Canadian '18R)
My guess is that the car knows it doesn't recognize all Canadian signage. The warning message is grey in the vehicle status screen (not yellow) and doesn't trigger a dash warning light (like some other coding fails do), so I don't think we're dealing with a major problem.
Just my 2 cents, and not driven by data!
Out of interest, if you turn the sign recognition off in the car settings menu does the error message go away?

I think it’s something to do with not connecting to the GPS from the radio, have heard a few people get it also some say it’s a EU feature and if the car senses it’s not in the EU it also brings up the message As said mine was factory, so I don’t get the message

I had something similar on my Mk7 when i tried to enable this, i found that changing the database setting fixed it for me, I will see if i can find the exact coding.
Cheers

this coding is fine for a golf 7 makeover right? being in Italy I should not see the message that comes out to some of you right?

Just looked through the coding I put in and it looks wrong (yes I checked in my car) A difference is
Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Adaptation Road Sign Detection Fusion Mode Change to ‘Road Sign Detection’
Mine is “road sign fusion”
So maybe try that and see if it works, as reading a few things in what it does, it looks like it gets the speed info from the GPS and if it detects a sign and it’s different it will Chang the screen

I have just enabled. Is there any way to take alarm if we over speed?

Isn’t that in the setting on the MIB? Plus I think you can set a alarm depending on the speed your over the limit

So you’re not getting that alert anymore? No. Working perfect without alert. Are you in North America (Canada or US) or are you in the EU? I tried the coding again with the Fusion option but unfortunately it's not recognizing or showing any signs on the dash or navigation screens even though the option to show them under Assistance Systems is there, and is turned on. I also noticed that when I make these changes I start getting faults in some modules. If I change the coding back to the original (no traffic sign recognition) and clear the faults they don’t come back. In Adaptation, “Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2” there is the following setting: traffic_sign_recogdnition_0x21_msg_bus Mine is set to: Databus extended What is yours?

Could it be the stereo? Is it a nav pro? Just wondering Also do you have the camera in the windscreen? (Not teaching you to suck eggs by the way)

Just wondering Also do you have the camera in the windscreen? (Not teaching you to suck eggs by the way) In Canada we only get the 8” Discover, we don’t get the 9.5” Discover Pro. Yes, definitely have the camera. As mentioned in the posts above I can get traffic sign recognition to work, and the camera picks them up but I get the warning. Hoping to find some combination of coding that would allow traffic recognition to work but without the warning.

I think I read somewhere that the discover media does not have a speed limit database built into it.

Message was: Unable or not allowed to make changes.
Ofcourse last line was also modified to “road sign fusion" Any suggestions from your side. regards Rob

Hi, are the maps required? I wanted to activate traffic sign recognition on my car but I have discover media without maps, I'm in italy

VW is selling this only with a nav because sign detection alone is very limited and relies to a checkup on the map. Turns will not change anything in the sign detection until a sign is recognized, city signs are not recognized, as these entirely map data. Still, you can enable to show all detected signs, but there is no intelligence behind it. Plus, you will see the "Traffic sign recognition limited" every time, because there is no road data avaliable.

kopter28 or anyone else who might help with below issue Did you ever solve the Databus error in ACC unit, when enabling traffic sign assist? Cause I get the same error with acc, and it some times completely stops working until next time engine has been off. This acc error goes away when deactivating the sign assist. This is the only place I have found another person with the same error, and all the guides for enabling sign assist are the same. Weird that it does something with how the acc works. Hoping to get some answers and assistance.

^^^hmm..... if I can add to the large volume of information that is already on this thread - as newty said so eloquently: There are 3 operation modes for TSR: Electric Horizon - only use navigation data Sign recogniztion - only use camera data (TSR only detects round signs, no city sings, also does not credit turns - so it keeps old limits for a long time until something new is seen) Fusion - some algorithms decide what traffic sign is plausible and display that. This is factory default. pACC incorporates to use map-data for bends, roundabouts etc to reduce your speed below the limit where neccessary. so- perhaps set the adaptation channel in the hexA5 module, Road sign detection fusion mode to a value that is appropriate? Don

I’ve been thinking the same thing, But on a Skoda the ACC does incorporate map-data into ACC. So I’m guessing that this has no influence. Still searching for the reason for why I’m getting an error on the infotainment system (sometimes), when traffic assist is activated. But it could also just be a weird coincidence, and that the two things has nothing in common.

Nah. We have that tried out with changing the road sign fusion. Camera is still complaining about missing data from the Nav. Seems like this is affecting the displayed signs, but does not turn off the software requesting signs from the infotainment - for me this looks like an development feature, but never ment to work on roads.
Regarding errors in ACC: There is the options to enable traffic sign recognition in the ACC. This is reported to be needed with Conti ACCs, maybe this is needed in some software combination with Bosch sensors, too

AUS mode MY 19 Golf R MK7.5 with 9.5 Discover Pro.
Road Sign Detection will work with: ‘road sign detection’ The “Dynamic Road Sign Display is current limited” message show up each time when start drive and detect speed sign. Will show speed limit at Navigation screen at infotainment and AID.
If change to “road sign fusion”, no any speed sign detect and no speed limit show in Navigation screen at infotainment and AID.

This is the error I am getting after using the coding below. Not sure where I'm going wrong. After coding I now have the option to see the Dynamic Road Sign Setting. When I select Visual/Acoustic I get this message. I do believe I have the correct camera These are the two coding's I have tried. Thanks to vwjap for them. 1. Select Control unit 5F (Information Electrical) Adaptation Select Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2 traffic_sign_recognition_0x21 Değer=Active Select Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu menu_display_road_sign_identification Değer=Active Go to Long Coding Byte 24, Activate Bit 6 Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Security access Access Code 20103 Control unit Long Coding Byte 16, Activate Bit 4 Select Control unit 17 (Dashboard) Control unit Long Coding Byte 5 Activate Bit 2 Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Adaptation Road Sign Detection Fusion Mode Change to ‘Road Sign Fusion’ Reboot Infotainment 2. PSD (Byte 27 Bit 7) in 5F should be enabled.
