I followed some steps to enable traffic sign assist on my MK 7.5 Golf R in Canada and it seemed to work flawlessly, it was picking up all the speed limit signs without issue but I would keep getting the following message. “Dynamic Road Sign Display is Currently Limited.” Anyone know what that means and how I can possibly fix this?

It’s an effect of us having the shittier infotainment system. Everything still works properly, but because our navigation does not have the speed limit database it throws that error.

The only Nav without PSD ist the MIB1 Media, which was sorted out way before the AID came to the Golf
Have you tried to enable PSD in 5F and setting PSD in A5 to 1.5?

I don’t think that’s the case, because by default is shows the speed limit on the main infotainment screen when you’re in the NAV, so it definitely has a database of the speed limits from map data.

"Prädiktive StreckenDaten" - speaking German sometimes helps in the abbrevation jungle from VW. Translates very well to predictive route data which includes the traffic signs, slopes, curves, intersections, roundabouts (...) from the map and even routing information if a route is set. Have a look at efficiency assist from audi or the predictive acc from the Arteon to see what is possible with PSD, but not possible in Golf right now.
Most of these info is not used right now I am afraid. Also, some regions do not have reliable data, so sign assist or more sophistaced features might get disabled
Not enabling PSD is in the infotainment will disable any communication about these data to other modules - which will also cause that error message.
Is there an error in the A5 module? When driving offroad (or in regions where there is no traffic sign information), the display is exact the same, but no error is save.

Gentelmens, I have a question:
When switching Discover media into navigation mode, there are speed limit signs on it ( I note that my car not have camera on front windshield), whether it is possible to code active info display to showing signs from navi withaut camera? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance alltrack18, my mk7 2016 GTI had this as well, but my 2018 Golf R does not...I am curious as to why this is? You would think they keep it for new models. Anyway, sorry I don't have an answer to your questions, but I would guess it isn't possible.

I'm also in Canada and I tried getting the road sign assist working, but I'm getting an error. It's not even attempting to read speed signs. What coding did you follow? I followed what vwjap posted......this:
I have it enabled from the factory so not done it myself but coding is Select Control unit 5F (Information Electrical) Adaptation Select Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2 traffic_sign_recognition_0x21 Değer=Active Select Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu menu_display_road_sign_identification Değer=Active Go to Long Coding Byte 24, Activate Bit 6
Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Security access Access Code 20103 Control unit Long Coding Byte 16, Activate Bit 4Select Control unit 17 (Dashboard) Control unit Long Coding Byte 5 Activate Bit 2
Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Adaptation Road Sign Detection Fusion Mode Change to ‘Road Sign Detection’ Reboot Infotainment Read more: forum.obdeleven.com/thread/2349/dynamic-display-traffic-recognition-coding#ixzz5MNfgrdo2
When I look for the long coding in those modules I don't have Bytes....mine has labels. I highlighted what I'm having issues finding. What coding did you use? Have you got it working flawlessly yet?

My MK7.5 Golf R has Discover Pro with lane assist and adaptive cruise control, however when I attempted to install traffic sign recognition with my OBD11 the response was "multi-function camera not installed". My Golf mk7.5 has the full driver assist pack so I know the camera is capable of this function. I am happy with the Nav system speed limit display on the discover pro centre console screen, but it doesn't display when the nav is displayed on the instrument cluster.....very annoying! Was this just a VW oversight? I bet the Audi S8 displays the speed limit in the instrument cluster from the nav data...so why not the Golf?
