I am trying to code a new battery for my 08 Rabbit MK5 using the VCDS procedure found here. In VCDS, there seems to be either a [Adaptation-10] or [Long Adaptation-0A] under [19 - CAN-Gateway]. However, neither option is available for me. The only options for me are "Long coding", "Basic settings", or "Coding II". Does anyone know why the adaptation options are not available for me? Is it simply my Gateway doesn't support the adaptation option? or there are some options I need to enable in OBDeleven to make adaptation option appear? Thanks for your attention. I’m looking forward to your reply.

You shouldn't need to code a new battery for your car. Some cars have differing charging circuits that need to be coded to tell the alternator when to STOP charging the battery and at what rate to start charging the battery. The coding that one would normally doo would the car thing like the battery capacity. Your car is now intelligent to not need such a feature. You can ignore the process. Basic Settings in OBDeleven = Adaptation in VCDS www.my-gti.com/3204/replacement-batteries-for-the-volkswagen-golf-jetta-passat-and-others

Hi,
Did it work for you without the adaptation. I have the same issue than you on a audi tt mk2. Thanks.
