Has anyone gotten Traffic Sign Recognition to work in a 2018 (MK7.5) GTI Autobahn (North America/USA)? I've seen some posts in VWVortex where people got it to work for GTI R, but the listed procedure hasn't worked for my Autobahn. The procedure adds Sign Recognition to my Infotainment options and shuffles my MFD around to make room for the speed limit display, but no signs are ever detected.

What camera have you got in the top of the windscreen?

What camera have you got in the top of the windscreen? I'm not sure. Is there an easy way to look this up?

Yeah look at the screen see if it has like a triangle cut out at top Center (on the outside in front of the mirror)

Hmm should work then, although there seems to be a lot not working on 2018 models

I thought so, too. I guess I'll have to go back and quadruple check my settings to see if I missed anything.
...Or maybe I'm just using the wrong instructions. Anyone care to post tried-and-true instructions for a US GTI (2018) Autobahn?

No luck. I can’t find the last two bullets anywhere in OBDEleven for my car. Aside from those, everything applied and head unit reset. Alas, no sign recognition.
Anyone have thoughts before I back out the changes? (No errors with the changes, so no rush to back out.)

Sure you won't find them as the facelift has an 3Q0 Camera, while the old Golf is mostly equipped with 5Q0. You will also see that Byte 1 Bit 0 is entirely off - some even messed their calibration data with this, as this is now the coding for car's variation. In A5 it is needed to enable 16/5 and set the road sign mode to fusion. It is also needed to enable PSD to Version 1.5 if not set.
Have you checked 5F for a long coding call "PSD" (Prädiktive Streckendaten / Predictive Route Data) - this is the basis for TSR, as the camera is fusioning map data with the nav (Should be your 24/6 coding)
Lets check what worked out: * Do you find TSR relevant points in "Assistance" in the Infotainment? * Can you enable them? If not, after this, there should be an Error in A5 * If so, the Infotainment is coded for TSR traffic signs. * You should also notice that with TSR enabled there, the compass will move down, because TS are shown in the top
* In Car->Setup you should find an item where you can enable the items shown in the car status of the dashboard. * If so, the dashboard is enabled to show traffic signs
With these two, everything is up to the camera, which should work... There are some Tiguan Allspace in Germany which are built in Mexico where the TSR is also unable to be coded - maybe this issue is not only the Mexican Tiguan, but all imported cars....

Thanks for the response. So, yes, I got as far as the compass moving down, enabling the item in Infotainment - Car -> Setup (both in Assistance Systems and in the Dash). Never threw an error. However, it never displayed a sign/symbol related to speed. I ended up backing out the changes above. I'll take a look at 5F long coding for "PSD." What do you suggest I do with it if I find it?

You're exactly right, newty . There is a Byte24_psd in 5F long coding. It's set to Active (and always has been; I didn't have to set it (24/6) to Active in my original attempt).

Looks like the Tiguan Allspace issue we are seeing in Germany. Sadly, there is no practice on this. Some have exchanged the camera hardware to get it working, some said the dealer made an update, as the Mexican software was bogus (they didn't now what exactly has been updated). Both is strange, as the VW-policy is strictly no retrofits.
Sorry to say, but I think without a camera change or software update (probably possible with VCP) there is nothing to do...

That’s as I feared, so I backed it out. Unfortunately, I must have toggled something that removed my OPS (optical parking sensors). Now my car still warns me if I get too close to an object, but it doesn’t display the graphics on the infotainment screen.
I tried restoring the sign recognition settings and resetting infotainment, but no luck. Now I’m back to researching!

Have a look at: Adaptions-Vehicle Configuration-Pilot Parking (active) Adaptions-Car_Function_Adaptions_Gen2-menu_display_pdc (active) Adaptions-Car_Function_Adaptions_Gen2-menu_display_pdc_over_threshold_high (active) Adaptions-Car_Function_List_CAN_Gen2-PDC_audio_lowering (Active) Adaptions-Car_Function_List_CAN_Gen2-PDC_audio_lowering_msg_bus (Suspension data bus) Adaptions-Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-parking_assist_0x0A (active) Adaptions-Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-parking_assist_0x0A_msg_bus (Terminal 15)

Thanks. Should all be active? I'm pretty sure I never [intentionally] touched any of these. My Navigation system is now throwing an error as well (both when I try to use it and in the Scan of 5F). I'm in the process of retracing my steps and determining what the original settings in that module were based on history and backups.

These are factory settings from my car and should be the same on all cars with parking aid (its up to the parking module which entries are showing up in the menu and which sensors are displayed). With these huge tables in CAN and BAP you easily switch a wrong value or have some difficulties in transferring them.
Sure, almost all modules are self diagnostic down to a very low level and warn about missing/implausible messages if anything is mixed up while coding. Are they sporadic? Then clean them and see if they are coming up again? TSR and LaneAssist are not codable without at least one module trowing an error in the process

I'm excited to say that I got my Navigation and Park Pilot (OPS) back. The adaptation settings were all correct, but the long coding wasn't. After flailing around, I finally figured out that I can set the HEX code in long coding. Yeah, I'm a newbie. I had the original HEX coding for 5F thanks to my history and backups, so I just matched it up and, like magic, everything started working again. Still no Road Sign Recognition, but I can live with that at this point!
Thanks for all your help.

I have the same problem, no error message but no sign display. Just a short error message when I active the option in the dashboard unit (17) but it clear quickly and after that I haven’t error message. My car (mk7) with a 3Q0980654H camera come from Poland Have you an idea for resolve this problem ?
