Hi,

Anyone know how to code Traffic Sign Recognition? I have an Audi A4 B9 2017, with the Virtual cockpit, so I'm wondering if someone can direct me to a code to enable this function.

Bump. Wonder if anyone has been able to find the code? From my understanding the camera needs to be "parameterized". whatever that means.

To code the "Traffic Sign Recognition" is not easy. Many threads are here in this forum, so if you use the "search-function", you find this threads...

It is not possible, to code the "Traffic Sign Recognition" with OBD11. Your frontcam must be parameterized, and this ONLY possible with "VCP".
I also searched for months, how to parametrize my cam, but for a newbie, you better left your hands from it ;-)...

In the internet, there was some things, you can buy:
1. You can buy a code direct from Audi => around 270€ - Original-coding without problems

2. Or a coding module => around 170€ - But everytime you drive to your Audi-Car-Dealer for a inspection, your Car-Dealer set this funcion back to factory and you must "recode" after the inspection

3. You can search in the internet, if some expert in your near area had a "vcp-coding-terminal" and know how to use it to make the TSR enabled. => around 100€. This way had the same procedure like point 2. If you drive to your Audi-inspection, they set it back to "no traffic-sign-recognition"...

For me, the only real solution is, to buy the original-Code from Audi. You must code this audi-code at your local Audi-Dealer...

For your understanding, the cam needs an other "firmware" and i cant find it and i dont know, how to flash this control-module...

I was able to code: Traffic sign recognition FTE active but still not working.
I've searched all over the internet and found people that successfully enable this on a older can than mine.
Lane assist is working fine and I read traffic sign recognition should work if lane assist is.

Since this thread started a few months ago, wondering if you guys were able to figure out?

I did but my problem is now like this. most of the time is not working. i start my car like 5-7times after start working. so not sure what else i can do. I follow the information what i read how to code it. When i ask what i can do and explain this problem to someone they sad that is not possible that sometimes working some times not, but actually that is the situation

Obd should make an app for this like they have done for other cars, b9 audi 2017 models

It won’t let me to code it on byte 5 bit 0, everything done and activate till this point. I have prestige but with manual which is rare, maybe is not available for me who knows about? But assuming should deeply search about. Will really want this option, with head-up display is priceless

OBD11 apps for TSR activation arent the same for all cars, some of them has it in app list and some not. Audi is specific case when we speak about TSR because coding isnt enough to activate it. You have to flash camera software according to H/W part number and then do the right coding. If you code with OBD11 app in most cases the coding is wrong in some bytes and TSR isnt working as it should. The same thing is happening when you want to activate Active Lane assist on some cars with specific camera part no., all you get after coding is PreSense fault on the dashboard so you have to do the coding manually according to your vehicle equipment (if car has ACC or HUD etc.)

Can someone form US share 5F (MMI), 13 (Dashboard) and A5 unit backup please.

I am in Australia and my A4 2017 has TSR enabled, but it dose not pick speedlimit from GPS, in the absence of speed SIGN, or if it is able to detect. Though the TRAFIC_SIGN_DETECTION is set Fusion. TSR works when Traffic speed sign are visible. Also either PSD work or TSR work.

Trying to figure out what is the difference.

Hey mate, I'm from Aus also. How did you enable this for Aus delivered cars? Even Kufatec says Aus is not supported.

So basically to enable TSR you will need to have the following:
1- Front camera for driver assistance.
2- VCP to flash front camera parameters.

To start
1- Make sure your camera hardware number is 8w0907217 (most of a4 b9 and b9.5 are)
2- Download VZE parameters using vcp activator software click filemanagement (search for a4 vze) or search for a4_8w0907217g.
3- Connect VCP to your car and get rdy for some action: Open VCP
4- Click on guided functions. from the modules (to the right) select apps.
5- Select Upload parameter data and click next
6- Make sure the engine is off and hood is open then click next
7- From ECU select A5
8- Click on Open ZDC file, and select file downloaded from step 2.
9- VCP s/w will load the file, from the right you can select which dataset to upload, select TrafficRecognision_HeadingControl
10- Click on Upload selected data. give it some time to flash the dataset. some errors will appear on the dashboard regarding lane assist etc. Ignore them.
11- Now we have flashed the camera, we need to do some coding.

Do key on/off reset to all modules then you are good to go.

Notes:
- If you have a b9.5 an error will keep appearing after driving for some distance showing that traffic sign recognition is currently restricted. ignore it. it will be working fine.
- The coding for b9.5 is different for 5F module. but you can figure it out. let me know if you need any further help.
