Hi I have a issue with my new next gen device that arrived today. I plugged it into my mk5 tdi 4motion, I used my iPhone 10, the latest version of the app, followed the onscreen instructions and updated the firmware. I then ran a fault search and nothing was found. It was working as I signed in etc and it was showing the available apps and battery voltage etc... I knew this was not the case as I have some long running existing faults the need physical work to sort out so I ran a scan using VCDS and it showed 8 faults. I am aware that the iOS version is currently in beta phase and the pro section is not working yet however I saw all your advertising material states that fault code scans and clearing along with one click apps are supposed to be working. Why is my brand new next gen device not working? Many thanks James Sorry I don’t know how to post pictures, I will try and learn ibb.co/sq0PqN6ibb.co/YLj6QLz

Hi vwjap, thanks for the help, I’ll try that later on my next post.
Help regarding obdeleven picking up my gateways seems sparse, is there anyone from OBDeleven them selfs that helps out on here or is it a Monday to Friday thing?
Cheers

There’s a couple of mods that work for voltas fella, you tried deleting the app then re-installing it as it told me I had current version but I didn’t (think I had v1 when it should’ve been v1.1) and that was the only way I could update, DONT DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT whatever you do

Hi vwjap, thanks for the heads up. So far I have deleted and reinstalled the app, updated the devices firmware, deleted the device then re paired it and made a new account just to test and nothing has worked.
I think I have a dodgey device to be fair. I have tried it in my girlfriends 2009 polo and it found all the control modules but would not scan, it kept saying error and check the ignition.
Then I tried it in my dads 2009 beetle and it would not find the car, I had to enter the vin manually then it brought up new polo but no engine size or mileage etc... then it did a full scan but and showed zero faults despite the passenger door electrics not working or locking and also brought up strange controls modules such as all wheel drive (it’s a 2wd beetle) sat nav (which it doesn’t have).
It’s now all fully reported back to Voltas over the last few days with plenty of screenshots and ive been told they are looking into it and will have a outcome by the end of the week.
I do t know what experiences others have had with the next gen device and iOS but mine hadn’t been great yet!

Have you tried running the engine for a few minutes before logging in? I had a little quirk with mine a while back, plugged it in and I wouldn’t see the car, plugged the old device in and it said 11.4v and was in red, ran the car for a few minutes and it went into the yellow, then plugged the new gen in and it kinda saw the dongle (asked for password)

Hi, yes I have tried that too with no luck. It find the dongle with no problems, i out the password in with no issues and it can see all the available changes I can make in exchange for credits, it shows my battery charge status and also comes up with gateway 19 but that’s it.
I had the old version of OBDeleven with a android device and it worked fine on my car so I know the car is not at fault.
I think it’s iOS gremlins that have not been worked out yet.

What version of iOS app? I had to delete the app and reinstall because it told me v1 was up to date, now on v1.1

I have just been on and downloaded and updated to version 1.1.2, I was already on 1.1.1.
It then prompted for a firmware update on the device it’s self, this is the second firmware update on 6 days since I got the device.
I was really hopeful, plugged her in, put in the password etc and then boom, still only one control module! I even went for a drive and had the engine running and did another scan, no luck, I then deleted my car and the single then re paired and scanned again, just the same result.
I’ve heard back nothing from the team at OBDeleven yet. Am I the o my one with iOS troubles?

Hi Islav, thanks for confirming I’m not the only one. Which controller shows up for you? Mine is 19 Gateway. Also what car do you have?
If you can click on the other section in the app and then report a bug and write down in detail what the problem is and what you have tried this may help the developers further in their quest to get this problem sorted.

I have the same problem. I hadn't used my OBD eleven in several months, maybe even more than a year. When I plugged it in last month it automatically updated its firmware and with difficulty connecting it came to the scan screen where it only showed one controller, "Gateway 19". A scan either results in "no faults found" or" Control unit not responding. Check ignition and try again". The ignition is on and I'm getting two lights on the OBD dongle. One steady and one flashing. Car is a 2010 GTI and I'm using a Samsung tablet with Android 5 connected to wifi. Previously it has worked fine with the same set up. I know my car has faults for sure. HELP PLEASE. My OBD Eleven has become useless.
