Bought a OBDEleven Nextgen Pro and connect to my Samsung Galaxy S5 with no problem. As the screen is small on the phone, I went out and bought a Samsung Galaxy Tap A 7" tablet thinking the bigger screen will be better. However, I have problem connecting to the OBDEleven2 with this tablet. I have tried delete the dongle on the app and did a fresh connect but it still fail to connect. The red light did pulse when I run the app. but end up failing to connect. I run the app on my S5 again it it connected with no problem. Here is the difference between the two device: Tablet run Android 5.1.1 Phone run Android 6.0.1 Tablet use 1.3GHz Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 Phone use 2.5GHz Krait 400
Both devices are running bluetooth 4.0
I have read from this forum a member did use the Galaxy Tap A 7" with the old dongle with no problem. Can anyone shine a light on my problem? Thanks in advance, Steve

From this we can conclude that the dongle is working,
New device is running an android version that OBD11 Say is ok (it has to be above 5 which you are)
Just stating obvious stuff,
1/ do you have good internet connection to the tablet 2/ have you tried to pair the tablet to the dongle (if so go to bluetooth settings and delete it and any other devices you may have there) 3/ Have you cleared the data and or cache under storage after you deleted all the items shown under device 4/ Its been a while but I think you need to have location settings on - worth a try anyway if its not turned on 5/ Is there any advert security that might possible get in the way of this app (just turn it off to see if it makes a difference)

testeronline, Thanks for the reply. I retest and note down exactly what I did and what I observed.
Clear data/cache from Android uninstall OBDeleven Reinstall OBDeleven Turn-off car bluetooth plug in dongle run OBDeleven software Sign-in and the screen show “ loading vehicle “ ------ forever! Close the program from android. Run the program again, main screen showed up on the “ Device “ screen, the Dongle ID showed up. Touch connect and after a while, “ device not responding ” message showed up.
I then register again using a different email account. Uninstall after clearing data/cache and reinstall OBDeleven. Then run the software, the same “ loading vehicle “ message showed up forever. I am 10ft from my wifi router so there is no signal problem.
I now think the software have problem with Android 5.

Joseph, Thank you for trying to help. I need to solve the software problem first. After loading OBDeleven software from play store, I then run it and did a registration with a different email. It came back and ask me to log-in and I did. The software then run and hang up with the message " loading vehicle " on the screen, forever.
The reason I think it may be a problem with the software when running Android 5.1.1 is that I can run the installation of the software and connect with the dongle with my Samsung phone that run Android 6.0.1. Your S4 run Android 8 Oreo so it may not be a problem.

I'm having a similar problem, with a Samsung tablet running 5.1.1. After trying everything above, I used the iOS app and got it to connect to my S5. Back I went to the Android and no joy.
