Hi, I tried to disable the start/stop function with the voltage method. While I was searching for the menu, I found a "Deactivation of the start/stopp function" in the menus with 5 selectable options and with the default value "modus not activated".
Is that a new was to disable the stop automation?
thanks alot

nesti this is not a new function. on my car its on Air Con and Gateway, I am sure a long time ago this was talked about and it caused errors when changing it but my memory is not as good as it used to be so might be worth a check.

I found yet another point in the engine control menu 01 under adaptation -> "Activation of start-stop function" which is active and you can set it to not active.
I guess there are quite alot of ways to disable this function.

That last one seemingly resets every time you turn the car off. I'm assuming it's basically like pressing the button by the shifter.

One test you can do here is check engine control menu 01 under adaptation -> "Activation of start-stop function" which should be shown as active.
If you then use the button and turn it off, when you check it now it should show as not active (just a guess)
Then when you recycle the ignition I would expect it to go back to active again.
You can fit a memory module to the switch which basically returns the switch to the same position you had it when you turn off the power.

Hi,
I saw several memory modules which would save me a headache with the start/stop and the exhaust valves, but in the back of my head I still think if it's possible to do via OBD11, why spending 450€.
The result will probably be me buying a memory module if it's not working. But at least I can stop the trunk beeping and change the trunk opening and closing behavior with OBD11.

there are many things that obd11 can do for you and i think its a great tool. check out forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/obdeleven-android-tool-for-vcds-type-of-activity-working-ones-for-the-ateca.438134/ if you have not already these guys may have more info. the stop start memory module is £30-00, on my car i could code it off in two different methods but i prefer the memory module because it remembers where i was last (which for most of the time is off) but I can then at a push of the button turn it back on again. I can also disable it so if I was every worried about warranty (which on my car is void due to all the modifications) then I could hide the fact I had this feature instead of having to code it back when going in to garage. VAG Generally are making it harder to change stuff will be interesting to see what they do with the new 2020 release cars.

^^^ I agree with my venerable colleague, but if you want to save yourself £30-00 and you have basic soldering skills, you could build and install one of these. My "SS auto-kill switch" is not as sophisticated as the £30-00 device, but the unit that I installed in my Golf mk7 has worked flawlessly for many years now. Don

Another option for owners who have Autowatch Ghost is. You can reverse the operation of stop / start. So it is OFF by default and you press the button to turn it ON.
