Hi,
Could anybody please explain to me what gateway coding exactly is? (or send me a decent link) I was searching the net, but didn't find anything specific.
I missclicked when he asked me at the beginning and the app "did something" which I can't explain. (something with added to the gateway list) I saw in the history some Gateway Coding entries where some menus were marked as removed and some were added.
I am a bit lost on this topic as I am still brandnew to the OBD11 world, so I would be very thankful for any advice.
thanks alot

thanks alot.
I guess you can't really break your car with this function. "The purpose of this bit of software is to always keep all your control units active in the device" thats maybe why my car isn't taking my changes. I was also thinking about changing to Audi mode. Some people say that that the throttle response is better, which I could understand as they are all VAG engines and the ones from Audio and VW are normally accelerating a bit faster. The problem is that my device show me only bits as the other devices (shown in the screenshots) always show the brand names in OBD11. thanks alot Nesti

Yes its trying to make sure you dont remove stuff you should have and get rid of control units you have added that the car does not have (which will be shown in Black). But at the same time it gives you the flexability to retrofit other stuff and then simply add it back in.
The Audi response has caused problems on newer cars if you dont have ACC Fitted, lots of error messages etc but works ok if you have ACC (At least in the Leon range)
Re the long coding descriptions these titles are added in by users so yes you will see descriptions in some but not all or on the new cars unless somebody has done it then none at all I am afraid.
VW Do not share any info on this stuff its down to people like Ross Tech and OBD11 Users to update and share the info.
Hope that helps.

thanks a lot for your tips. I haven't found any decent step by step guide where I would be sure thats its working.
I have ACC on my car, but what exactly do you mean by fitted? Only that it's equipped or that it's adjusted to the Audi mode?
thanks alot

I saw for example this step by step guide: Select Control Unit 01 - Engine Select Long Coding Select 1 (so you are in long coding not short cut's) By default you should be in Byte 0 Select Bit 0 - 2 (its all one section from memory) and select Audi from the dropdown menu. Tick the old green tick and you are done. But I don't have a dropdown menu in my OBD11, thats why I am not 100% sure what I am doing
On the attachment you see what I have at the moment. (the default Bits from the Cupra Ateca)
thanks alot

When I say fitted I mean the car comes with ACC or it has been retrofitted, Cars that just come with Cruise Control have lots of issues in the Facelift cars.
Not aware of issues with it being turned on just the fact the car has ACC as part of its build.

My car has Bit 0 - 2 as one section and the drop down list gives you VW/SEAT/SKODA, AUDI & vALUE 011 (NO IDEA), I have it set to Audi which equates to having Byte 0 Bit 1 being ticked, 0 and 2 are both unticked but obviously it may be a different setup on your car.
