I am no expert but your brake module has no long coding (its all 0000000)
Have you done a factory reset by any chance, and have you done a backup of your car previously as you will need the long code string to replace you current settings.

dv52 (Australia) is best placed to offer advise on this sort of problem, but I am pretty sure you will need to replace all the 00 with proper coding, do you have a backup you did in the past so you can copy that data. Youw will also need to run some basic settings to re calibrate some of the kit on your car i suspect

^^^selwynxx: Hi. First - testeronline is not correct (no offense to tester  )- there are lots of forum colleagues here with far greater expertise than mine. Second: testeronline is correct - you will need to re-establish the original long code string on the brake module as the first step to recovery. I hope that you have been prudent in the past in generating a back-up for the car because this will have a copy of the original long code string for your car (it's VIN specific). If you didn't make a back-up for the car, you could try the history report - hopefully, you made changes to the hex03 module in the past and the original long code is recorded there. Or, you could try to find a long code from a similar type vehicle on the web - but this is really a bit of a gamble and it can be problematic. Failing these options, you can take the car to a dealer - they can re-generate the long code string by referencing your VIN and searching the database back on Audi mother-ship. Don PS: @testeronline - I know you don't represent VOLTAS, but they really should get a move-on and implement a warning message in their software before users press the factory reset option (as many of us have suggested in the past). There are very few instances when the factory reset option is appropriate and having no warning message is a trap; most users are blissfully unaware-of the dire consequences until the loose stools (i.e. the "brown stuff")and the proverbial fan blades collide!! And it's far too late when this happens - other than being an lesson in education not to press the factory reset option!! I'm not suggesting that the lack of a warning message in any way lessens user's liability for their actions, but I suspect that this is another example of what can happen with the current absence of a warning message - IMO, of course! |

Don thanks for the advise, Yes I agree I see far to many people use it and suffer the pain.
Hence NEVER TOUCH FACTORY RESET UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY FIXING YOUR CAR in my sig on this and other forums.
I have told Voltas time and time again but I am afraid they seem to be ignoring this problem but I will keep pushing.

thanks for all your answers
i've managed to recode the braking system (long coding ) using the information backed up , it has cleared some faults ie ESP and the AIRBAG ,but there are still faults showing like handbrake and stop start etc
i copied and pasted the original long coding number into the app but i am unsure what to do now
any help would be appreciated as the app is not easy to use

can you please post up your full scan so we can see all the errors.
From memory when this has occured before you have to go into Basic Settings and do some setup but show us your error report and will try and help.

As I said yesterday I am not an expert in this bit but looking through your error log it appears to be telling us that your steering angle sensor needs basic settings run. I had this recently on my car when the battery died on me and my garage said take it for a quick drive and that should fix it.
So question is have you driven the car after you did the brake re code, if not (unless anybody else says this is rubbish) take if for a 5 minute drive,
Run the scan and clear all the errors and see if it goes away (which in my case it did)
If that does not work then I am afraid you will need to run the basic settings for steering angle, if you do a search on this site you will find some instructions on what to do (Sorry I cant give them to you but i have not done it so don't know the procedure)
Further you have C10E254 - Control module for electro-mechanical parking brake No basic setting and you do have an option in basic setting for it but i have not seen any instructions i am afraid.
Afraid i have no idea what is going on with you 5f control unit does your sat nav work now
there are some other faults but i think the steering angle sensor is your main issue, if anybody else can update please chip in

^^^^ Steve: apropos of the hex5F error, the long code string on the module suggests that SATNAV has been set-up for EU region - is this correct? If not, what country are you from? If so, have a look in your History file for changes that were made to the module recently. Revert the settings back to their original values and with each reversion, try clearing the error

i am from the uk , I sent my car in months ago for a new alternator and I asked them to code my sat mms to my car as the other one broke , it worked initially , then when I turned my ignition off it would not work
evrything else works though

Steve: hmm........... OK - the EU setting is appropriate if you are in UK. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "as the other one [sat mms] broke". Did the dealer replace the entire MMS?
In any event, you could try to second guess what changes the dealer made - but, given that the Navigation database error in your scan report clearly results from an incorrectly coded module that the dealer has modified - I would say that this is a warranty matter.
