Hi folks,
I would like to modify the Coming Home/Leaving Home feature a bit by disabling the front fog lights from it.
Needless to say I don't want to disable the fog lights completely since they are useful on bad weather.
Driving a 2015 A3 with Xenon headlights and halogen fog lights if that makes any difference.
Cheers!

^^^^ niilociika: The implementation of CH/LH function varies widely depending on the actual model car, the installed equipment options and the country of sale. But you can disable just the CH/LH function without impacting the fog light function like this:
- Go to the Central electrics module @ address hex09
- Select adaptation
- Enter "LB45" into the search box and select Leuchte12NL LB45 - this is the Leuchte-set for the left- side front fog light
- Look through the Lichtfunktion channels (there are eight of these) for the value Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv
- Select the channel and change value to not active - confirm the change by pressing the tick in the green circle
- Back on the adaptation screen, enter "RB5" into the search box and select Leuchte13NL RB5 - this is the right-side front fog light
- Repeat steps IV and V above
- At some point in the process, you will be asked to enter a security code - use the magic number 31347

Thank you for your reply dv52!
I have checked those values and tried to adjust them accordingly but with no luck whatsoever. My car is a Scandinavian model.
I have tried Googling this but with no luck.
Any further help is much appreciated.

niilociika (hmm...... how do you pronounce the name?) : OK bummer
I wonder whether some other part of the car is stopping my suggestion from working as I suggested. Post-up a copy of the Leuchte-set for Leuchte12NL LB45 (meaning the full, 19 x adaptation channels). You can either transcribe the values manually onto a post, or you can take pictures ( 2 x pics are needed). Upload the pictures onto a hosting site like imgur, or dropbox) and place a link here

Evening, An image of the leuchte12-set as per your request, good sir : imgur.com/a/3vIq1NPThe only value modified by me is Lichtfunktion C12 - which was originally set to 'coming home oder leaving home aktiv'. I also tried changing Dimmvert CD12 to '0' and Dimming Direction CD12 to 'Minimize' as someone suggested on another forum but those didn't help either (so I reverted the changes). Oh it's quite simple: Go to texttospeech.io/Type in niilociika Select Finnish Click 'Speak' Enjoy =)

^^^^ niilociika: OK try these changes
Leuchte12NL LB45 Lichtfunktion C 12 > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv Dimmwert CD 12 > 0 (11)-Leuchte12NL LB45-Dimming Direction CD 12 > minimise
If you are successful in disabling CH/LH on the left-side fog light, make the same changes to Leuchte13NL RB5 (right-side fog light)

dv52, you're a lifesaver! (ok more like looksaver)
It works!
So basically I have to first activate the fogs in CH/LH scenario and only after that the follow-up settings work. Brilliant.

^^^^ niilociika: well done!!! Not quite - you don't have to "first activate the fogs in CH/LH scenario". There are at least two ways of doing what you want;
- You could simply change the central electrics module adaptation channel Außenlicht_uebergreifend-Coming Home Leuchten from fog lights to Low beam, or
- You can do as I suggested which is really illuminating the fog lights for the CH/LH function to zero percent (meaning not illuminating the fog lights, at all)

^^^^^I assume that you followed the LH (not "ch") instructions similar to mine below for the main-beam lights. If so, you can add the same instruction-set to any other of the lights on the car - but only if there are "not active" Lichtfunktion channels in the Leuchte-set.

Hello! I would like to change the Coming Hjome / Loving Home function by deactivating the front fog lights. But I don't want to turn off the fog lights completely, as they are in bad weather and when cornering lights. My car is a 2014 Audi A3 with bi-xenon headlights and halogen fog lights.
The niilociika did it, so he asked for screenshots of the settings from the odb. Thanks in advance!

Leuchte12NL LB45 (left-side fog light) and Leuchte13NL RB5 (right-side fog light): - Lichtfunktion C > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv
- Dimmwert CD > 0
- Dimming Direction CD > minimise

Thanks for your reply!
I have set these values.
Now the front fog lights do not work at all, even to illuminate the road when you turn the steering wheel and turn on the direction indicator ...
It is very necessary that they perform these functions!

Hi all, great forum! Unfortunately, nothing works for me on this subject. I have OBDEleven Pro and I followed all the instructions carefully, but fogs are still active as Coming Home/Leavine Home (CH/LH). I have successfully disabled the dipped beams as CH/LH, so at the present, I have DRLs and fogs together as CH/LH, which is not acceptable. I would like ONLY one set of lights to act as CH/LH: - fogs, DRLs disabled, or - DRLs, fogs disabled. No preference which of them, but NOT both - looks too showy... The car is Skoda Karoq early 2021 - before the late 2021-2022 facelift. Any help would be much, much appreciated, thanks in advance!

chess11: post up the values for Leuchte12NL LB45

Post by chess11 on Mar 6, 2022 22:12:35 GMT
Thank you for your quick response, here you are:
Leuchte12NL LB45 Lasttyp 12 - not active Lampendefektbitposition 12 - 0 Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 12 - 0 Lichtfunktion A 12 - nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion B 12 - nicht aktiv Dimmwert AB 12 - 0 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 12 - always Lichtfunktion C 12 - Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv Lichtfunktion D 12 - nicht aktiv Dimmwert CD 12 - 0 Dimming Direction CD 12 - minimize Lichtfunktion E 12 - nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion F 12 - nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 12 - 0 Dimming Direction EF 12 - maximize Lichtfunktion G 12 - nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion H 12 - nicht aktiv Dimmwert GH 12 - 0 Dimming Direction GH 12 - maximize
With these settings, Coming Home/Leaving Home is on BOTH DRLs and fog lights, despite restrictions in CD 12 - dimmwert 0 and dimming direction minimize.
Really strange...

chess11 : Is the central electrics module channel Außenlicht_Front-Fahrlicht bei Tag set to fog lights? If so, change value to Daytime running lights and remove the setting on Lichtfunktion C 12.

I just checked the module Außenlicht_Front - Fahrlicht bei Tag is set to Daytime running lights, as it should be I suppose.
I also confirmed that only LED strips are on as DRL, fogs are inactive, so no problem with daytime lights, only Coming Home/Leaving Home is acting strange with fogs permanently active.
Should I disable all C12 settings on Leuchte12NL LB45 in this case, following your advice?

Post by dv52 (Australia) on Mar 8, 2022 20:28:31 GMT
OK - the reason why I suggested the Fahrlicht bei Tag channel is because Leuchte12NL LB45 is disabled as currently programmed- and I suspect that Leuchte13NL RB5 (the Leuchte-set for the right-side fog light) is also disabled. So tell me the back-story about these fog lights - are they LED, or incandescent - were they factory fitted, or retrofitted? Do they work normally when the center turret on the rotary light switch is pulled-out? Does the car have a factory fitted Light sensor. What country?
This part of the forum is for Golf mk7 cars which are built on MQB platform. Your Skoda Karoq is also built on this platform and my assumption is that it uses the same Leuchte-sets for the fog lights - but this might be incorrect

Don, I am really grateful for your involvement and help - highly appreciated! I know this is not a Karoq forum, but here I found the EXACT concern I have, so I thought I can post in this thread, moreover I believe as you say our cars are identical. Here are the facts you need - Karoq 2021 are all-LED factory fitted headlights - dipped are LED, High-beams are LED, DRLs are LED, and finally the fogs are LED as well, they act also as a cornering lights. The car has a light sensor factory fitted, Auto-light assist and all other light assistants are working normally. Country - Germany. The fogs seem to operate properly - they do NOT work when DRLs are on... they do NOT lit up when dipped/highs are on, they engage automatically only when cornering at night or when you initiate them with the rotary switch... I mean the fogs' behaviour is all OK, except this strange activity when Coming Home/Leaving Home... I attach a photo of the section, I believe it is clearly seen. Many thanks!

chess11 : hmm........ OK- your description of the fog-light behavior is understood
If the fog-lights operate correctly and since the "normal" Leuchte-sets for the fog-lights are factory disabled - there can be ONLY one explanation; the central electric module does NOT control the fog-lights on this car!
This happens in some newer MQB platform cars that are factory fitted with Light Control Modules (LCMs). You can identify LCM cars because the modules are reported on OBD11 scans at address hex29 as " 29 Light Control Left" and at address hex39 as "39 Light Control Right".
For vehicles that use LCMs for LED based headlights, the more usual way that OBD11 scans report these modules is at address hexD6 as "D6 LED Module Left" and at address hexD7 as "D7 LED Module Right".
Does the scan for your Skoda Karoq report modules at any of the above addresses? If so, I suspect that you are out-of-luck because OBD11 cannot access any programmable functions in LCMs - alas!!

You are absolutely right. I have LED Module Left D6 and LED Module Right D7, I just checked OBD11 Control units. So, nothing can be done as I get it. Well, it crossed my mind to try one last thing - set Außenlicht_uebergreifend - Coming Home Leuchten from fog lights to Low beam, then DISABLE Low-Beams c-funktions. Maybe this will deactivate both Low-beams and fogs as CH/LH and leave only DRL strips. As I said - your help is much appreciated, thank you!

Finally I did the trick. As explained above, strangely Leuchte12NL LB45 had no effect on CH/LH and fogs remained CH/LH active. So, I reviewed all other lights settings, without changing anything first and found that Leuchte5TFL RB32 and Leuchte4TFL LB4 had C functions active - Coming Home/Leaving Home. Disabling those C-functions turned off fog lights as CH/LH and now only DRL LED strips are active - exactly what I wanted. I'd be glad if anyone could find this solution helpful. I suppose it works only on new VAG models - 2021 and up.
