Hi, can't seem to open up the mirror dip app for my A3 8v. Everytime I start it, it just keeps loading with the spinning wheel and goes on forever. I have no problems with other apps. What's happening? Cheers

^^^^ have you guys checked that your door control modules have a memory facility. It makes sense that the modules need a memory of some sort to establish the X/Y coordinates of the start position - otherwise how does the mirror know where to return? Anyway, this is how to find-out if your car has a memory module installed (the screen-shots are from a mk7, but the A3 should be the same because both vehicles use the same MQB build platform). Note: If your car does have the memory module, the X/Y coordinate values may be different to those shown, but they can't be 255 (which is hexFF) Don

I don't have the memory module so the mirror will not move to initial position, right?

Please help! do you remember to place the mirror selector on the right mirror before you put car in reverse. Or try this: Lower Passenger Mirror When Reverse Gear Select Control unit 52 (Türelektr. Beifahr.) Control unit Long Coding Byte 04 Bit 2-Active Bit 3-Active Select Control unit 09 (Central Electrics) Control unit Long Coding Byte 04 Bit 3-Active

So I'm assuming no power is getting to the mirror because the fold used to work and now it does. Maybe the motor burnt out?

^^^kp131: When you say that you "activated mirror memory" using my instructions, what you actually did was to read the status of various memory locations in the passenger side door module (@address hex52). Reading these memory locations doesn't/shouldn't change anything in the module - it's just reading a set of values. If the live data results show "255", your car doesn't have the required memory module for the mirror dip function.

My mirror was not dipping my desire position so i was checking to do something with long coding and i found option of memory_mirror which was not active so i changed it to active while my engine was on(i feel like because my engine was on that's why mirror memory got deleted). I even changed back everything from history whatever I've done but couldn't help, yesterday only when i checked live data as you instructed i saw it's 255 mean i don't hv mirror memory installed anymore. Is there any way i can install back mirror memory and make working mirror dip again? Thank you

^^^^I'm not sure that you can but just the memory module - you have to change the mirrors

I am new to the forum, so in the beginning I would like to say hello to everyone!
I have doubts regarding mirror dip functionality. In my A3 (2017) on a passenger side currently I have 5Q0959592E module. I was thinking about buying 5Q4959592E, which should have memory functionality. However, I am not sure if this is all I need to be able to enable mirror dip function. Could you please advise me if replacement of module 5Q0 with module 5Q4 is all I should do, or maybe passenger side mirror also should be upgraded? Currently my mirrors are heated, electrically adjusted and folded, and also have side assist function. I am not sure, but mirror wiring loom is 10+2 PIN, but will have to check that.
I have also side question, but also related to the mirrors. My internal rear view mirror has auto dimming function. I was thinking about upgrading also wind mirrors to have them auto-dimmed. Do you happen to know if wiring loom 10+2 PIN, will support this? Or I should disassembly the mirror to check if there is connector for auto-dimmed mirror glass?
Do you know any link which describes differences between wiring looms e.g. 10PIN vs 10+2PIN, 12PIN, 12+2PIN, 14PIN, 14+2PIN. According to my understanding +2 means, that wiring loom supports side assist, but I do not know the difference 10vs12vs14.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Adding to the collective knowledge. 2017 S3 but 2016 body shape. My folding mirror used to work. Stopped.
When I had Control unit 52 Byte 04 Bit 1 inactive, I got the 255% with the live data. After setting Control unit 52 Byte 04 Bit 1 active, so 00 is not checked but 01, 02 and 03 were ticked, the live data readings now showed changes as I moved the mirror.
Not sure what else I need to do to get the dip working again but at the very least, the 255% does not necessarily mean that your mirror can't dip but could be that the settings are not correct for it to show live data readings.
Cheers
